Job Vacancy: Delivery Driver
 

Job Summary: The driver will be responsible for prompt delivery and distribution of company products to the customers. He will represent the company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Take instructions from supervisor regarding each day’s deliveries, pick-up or drop-off services.


• Take good care of designated vehicle and ensure that it is road worthy.


• Check tires, engines and seatbelts to ensure that they are in good working order.


• Make-certain that the vehicle’s fluids are at optimal levels.


• Assist in loading and unloading packages on the designated truck.


• Mentally chart out best possible route to reach desired destination in a timely manner.


• Make use of maps and the GPRS to assist in charting out actual routes.


• Maintain professional decorum during working hours.


• Make deliveries by maintaining correct knowledge of destinations and concerned contacts.


• Assist in offloading packages and delivering to customers’ as instructed by the supervisor.


• Provide customers with relevant documents and take signatures where necessary.


• Take and forward any complaints made by customers to the supervisor for action.


• Drive back vehicle to the company by following strict timeline rules.


• Change tires and make minor adjustments or repairs to engine or vehicle body during, before and after transit


• Perform general and preventative maintenance on vehicle by following scheduled timings


• Take vehicle to washing areas or wash them according to specific instructions

Education and Experience:

• Secondary school certificate with a minimum of C plain


• Basic English and Maths skills


• 5 years proven working experience as a delivery driver


• Valid professional driver’s license –class BCE


• Valid certificate of good conduct


• Good driving record with no traffic violations


• Key Competences:

• Excellent communication skills


• Excellent practical driving skills


• Ability to work quickly and to tight deadlines


• Ability to drive long distances


• Male candidates required
