Technical and Projects Manager
 


Main Purpose of the Job: Manage the entire process from project conception, design, costing, execution and delivery of the project in a timely and cost effective manner, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction and company profitability.
 


Experience in the building and construction industry is highly recommended.
 


Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the running of several projects.

  • Define the scope of the projects in collaboration with the client and fellow management.

  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.

  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project.

  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.

  • Making sure that all the aims of the project are met.

  • Making sure the quality standards are met.

  • Providing advice on the management of projects.

  • Communicating with a range of people including the client, fellow Managers, CEO,  Subcontractors, suppliers, and the workforce.

  • Representing the client"s or organization’s interests.

  • Recruiting specialists and sub-contractors.

  • Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained.

  • Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing.

  • Identify avenues of costs savings.

  • Recommend more efficient housing designs in terms of aesthetics, cost and time.

  • Recruit, interview and select staff and with appropriate skills for the departments activities.

  • Provide regular project updates.

  • Execute the project according to the project plan.

  • Develop forms and records to document project activities.

  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.

  • Monitor Project expenditure and report actual expenditure and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly).

  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
