Technical and Projects Manager
Main Purpose of the Job: Manage the entire process from project conception, design, costing, execution and delivery of the project in a timely and cost effective manner, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction and company profitability.
Experience in the building and construction industry is highly recommended.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the running of several projects.
- Define the scope of the projects in collaboration with the client and fellow management.
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
- Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
- Making sure that all the aims of the project are met.
- Making sure the quality standards are met.
- Providing advice on the management of projects.
- Communicating with a range of people including the client, fellow Managers, CEO, Subcontractors, suppliers, and the workforce.
- Representing the client"s or organization’s interests.
- Recruiting specialists and sub-contractors.
- Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained.
- Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing.
- Identify avenues of costs savings.
- Recommend more efficient housing designs in terms of aesthetics, cost and time.
- Recruit, interview and select staff and with appropriate skills for the departments activities.
- Provide regular project updates.
- Execute the project according to the project plan.
- Develop forms and records to document project activities.
- Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
- Monitor Project expenditure and report actual expenditure and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly).
- Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
