Job Vacancy: Senior Back-end Java Web Developer

Incentro Kenya is looking for you.  Incentro have 9 offices in the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey with almost 300 happy employees.
 

They are looking for someone with entrepreneurial spirit and who is an enthusiastic, flexible, seasoned Java Web Developer (back-end) with a minimum of 5 years of experience. 

 

Someone who likes to work on developing back- end solutions for our products, who likes to work in a complex environment with inspiring colleagues, inspiring clients and lots of learning opportunities. 

You will have an important role to grow the new Incentro Africa office here in Nairobi. 

You will be part of designing our strategy and build a close relationship with both our team in Nairobi, but also with our Dutch specialists in the Netherlands.
 

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop web-based and mobile software solutions together with our Dutch colleagues for our clients in Nairobi and the Netherlands.


• Establishing a team for our new office in Nairobi which can deliver great Google Cloud solutions.


• Discuss our products with our Dutch specialists and explain best possible solutions.


• Train and develop young developers to assist you to produce new products for clients.

Competencies required:

• Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a back-end Java developer


• Minimum a Bachelor"s degree in relevant areas e.g. ICT, web design, etc.


• Strong English written and oral communication skills.


• Cultural awareness and the ability to work with diversified cultures.


• Entrepreneurial spirit, willing to assist in growing the office.


• Energized and passionate about all you do in life.


• Flexible, open for new challenges and able to think out of the box.


• Responsible for the work to be finished on time.


• Ability to contribute to architecture discussions, helping the team to architect and design a system from the ground up.


• Knowledge of Google Cloud would be great advantage!


• Willingness and ability to train and supervise young developers.


• Real team player who works together with other specialists for the best result.


• Work experience required


• Expert in programming language Java. Experience with Swift.


• SQL and databases like MySQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.


• Web servers like Tomcat or IIS.


• Concepts like MVC and REST.


• Agile development using SCRUM.


• Continuous Integration and Content Delivery.


• Version control systems like Git.
