MicroSave is a market leader in providing consulting services to Mobile Network Operators (MNO’s) and Financial Service Providers (FSP’s) globally. 





Our clients include leading commercial banks, telecommunication companies, SACCOs, microfinance institutions and multilateral and bi-lateral donors. 





With increasing demand for our services, MicroSave intends to recruit a Manager to join its Private Sector Development team in Kenya.
 


The successful applicant will have a total of 5-7 years’ work experience in Livelihoods development and or Digital Financial Services. 






 

He/She will be a seasoned professional with the knowledge of how to use banking / financial services to alleviate poverty with a bias in livelihoods / community development.
 


Key Functions will include:

  • Planning and implementation of technical assistance to MicroSave clients.

  • Leading teams of consultants and assistants to implement consultancy assignments in a number of countries in Africa and Asia as and when assigned.

  • Develop consultancy proposals and liaise with prospective clients.

  • Planning and facilitation of training programmes including workshops, seminars and conferences.

  • Developing and reviewing training courses for clients.

  • Publishing insights and lessons and actively engaging the development finance sector through research papers Briefing Notes and blog posts.

  • Review/and or develop MicroSave toolkits.

  • Contribute towards staff development, staff planning and management.

  • Maintain organizational culture, values and reputation.

  • Attend and represent MicroSave at sectoral workshops, seminars and conferences as shall be assigned.


Location: The role holder will be based in Nairobi, but will be required to travel from time to time on work assignments locally and internationally.
 


Qualities & Skills: This position requires a self-driven, decisive, focused and knowledgeable individual who is able to provide insights and advice on deepening financial inclusion to improve the livelihoods of poor people in developing countries.
 


Other relevant skills include:

  • Strong professional demeanour and presentation.

  • Ability to lead assignments within teams and work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong field orientation and flexibility.

  • Good interpersonal, managerial, problem solving and leadership skills.

  • Excellent spoken and written English.

  • Computer literate with a high level of comfort Microsoft office including Ms Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Conversant with the use of research softwares such as STATA, SPSS, Epi Info. etc.


Education: Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences such as Commerce, Economics, Banking, Sociology etc. A completed Master’s degree is an added advantage.
 


Language: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills in English knowledge of any other language is an added advantage.



Compensation: A competitive compensation will be negotiated with the right candidate, commensurate with experience and skills. Please state current and salary expectations in your application.
