JOB TITLE: COOK


Salary: 20,000ksh.


Overview of the Position


Our client in the education sector is seeking to recruit a skilled cook who will be responsible for cooking well-prepared meals among other things.  



  • Will Learn and internalize the Marion Schools Corporate Spirit document.

  • Maintain cleanliness in and around the kitchen area.

  • Maintain personal hygiene.

  • Follow the schools menu appropriately.

  • Seek approval from your supervisor before effecting any change in the menu.

  • Follow the duty roster.

  • Wear chef uniform while in the kitchen or catering elsewhere.

  • Ensure there is no wastage of food.

  • Maintaining high quality of food preparation and hygiene at all times.

  • Develop good rapport with fellow colleagues.

  • Serving food to the learners, staff and other guest as may be instructed.

  • Ensure safety while in kitchen i.e. from fire, electricity, hot water sharp cutlery and any other hazard.

  • Ensure safe and clean drinking water is always available for staff and students.

  • Any other relevant duties assigned by head cook, operations manager or directors.


Qualifications



  • Diploma from a culinary school

  • Proven experience as cook

  • Renewal of medical certificate after every school term

  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware

  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

  • Very good communication skills

  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
