Role Profile: Business Development Officer- MARKETING


Location:  Bondo and Nyeri


JOB PURPOSE


Business Development Services (BDS)- Marketing is a critical part of the 2Jiajiri program and is integral to the program’s Theory of Change; ensuring the success of the beneficiaries’ businesses through sound business decisions including Market Acquisition decisions. KCB Foundation therefore seeks to recruit BDS Officer- Marketing in charge of the actual practice of Market Acquisition, Sales Strategy development, Logo & Marketing Materials Creation and Business Plan Development.


Reporting to the designated BDS- Team Leader, the BDS Officer- Marketing will conduct the day-to-day marketing roles to all beneficiaries within his/her respective region as allocated by the supervisor and as part of a team of specialist BDS Officers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assist the beneficiaries in the programme to come up with suitable business names, proper logos and brand identification for their products

  • Check credit reports for the beneficiaries with the credit reference bureau as assigned

  • Ensure proper marketing methods and strategies are developed and implemented by the beneficiaries.

  • Assist the beneficiaries in creating social media accounts to aid in marketing and train the beneficiaries on use of the same to ensure social media presence.

  • Support the beneficiary in developing and implementing customer service strategies.

  • Support the agri-businesses during the grading and weighing process of the produce

  • Support the businesses in negotiating contracts with the buyers

  • Support the businesses arrange the transport of products to the buyers

  • Maintain sales records and monitor product quality for the businesses

  • Co-ordinate aggregation and market access of the Agricultural and Manufacturing services


MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or business-related course

  • Diploma in Marketing will be an added advantage

  • 3 years of experience in marketing
