The position reports to the Chief Executive/Institute Secretary.
The Technical Officer shall, in consultation with and under the guidance of the Chief Executive / Institute Secretary, be responsible for the Technical services in the Institute including Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programmes, Research and Development and dissemination of information to members on corporate secretarial and governance issues.This will be done through the established Council Committees.
The job will involve organizing meetings, writing minutes and implementing the decisions of various Committees of the Council.In consultation with the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, the Technical Officer will be involved in:
Undertaking research and development on relevant professional matters.
Developing and documenting relevant Professional Standards for the members of the Institute.
Reviewing and developing strategies for ensuring compliance with CPD requirements by institute members as per policy.
Organisation and management of institute conferences and seminars.
Formulating and implementing strategies for increasing the membership of the Institute.
A member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya CPS (K)
A minimum of three years of professional experience in Company Secretarial work.
Demonstrable skills in good governance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Integrity and honesty.
Strong research and computing skills.
