Statistician / Data Entry Clerk

MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need. At present, MSFCH operates in three programmes locations in Kenya, Somalia and Sudan

Location: Dagahaley, Dadaab Refugee Camp

Start date: as soon as possible

Type of contract: 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Main Tasks:

Ensure timely collection and compilation of accurate morbidity, mortality and pharmacy dataEnter medical data into the mission databaseMaintain a smooth and accurate data processing database for the medical departmentEnsure good quality of data producedIdentify issues arising in the database and medical reporting tools (both at Capital and field level)Follow up on any omissions of data submitted from all the project sitesReports immediately to the line manager any problem arising with data provided or databaseEnsure proper storage and archiving of data.Ensure compliance to MSF guidelines, standards, policies and procedures for the missionDiploma in statistics or data entryDemonstrated skills in report writingExperience in an NGO will be an added advantageExcellent computer skills – Excel, Word, E-mail and InternetExcellent command of written and spoken English.

Clinical Officer

MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need.

At present, MSFCH operates in three programmes locations in Kenya, Somalia and Sudan.

Location: Dagahaley, Dadaab Refugee Camp

Main Tasks:

The MSF RCO will be primarily responsible for direct patient care, either in IPD or OPD, treatment and follow-up of patients and/or a population in accordance with doctors’ prescriptions, MSF protocols, respect of universal hygiene standards and context.

Ensure good practices among the medical/nursing team.

Duties will include both hospital and health post responsibilities.

Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Clinical rounds in the ward and health posts as assigned by the Medical Director.To carry out the OPD clinics according to needs.To cover emergency room as practitioner responsible.To perform either day or night duties according with the roster.Follow and supervision of the implemented protocols and systems.Ensure the correct documentation is filled and followed.Assist with care when there is need.Ensure proper handover among colleagues.To assist and participate in continual medical education facilitated by MSF Staff.Requirements:

Education: Clinical Officer degree/diploma/certificate recognized by National Authorities

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a Clinical Officer and it is preferred experience with NGO will be an added advantage. Excellent command of English both written and spoken English. Somali speaking an advantage

Personal qualities:

Clinical skills, rigour, precision, flexibility, ability to work with multidisciplinary and multi-cultural people.Willingness to learn, develop capacities and take responsibilities.All applicants should send a detailed CV and letter of motivation to:

You will have a minimum of a first degree in any discipline with extensive experience of emergency and development work, and understanding of relevant humanitarian and policy issues in a similar context.

You will need to have strong analytical and strategic planning skills with good experience in proposal development and report writing.

Equally important is your diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills and ability to build good relations both internally and externally.

Public Health Co-ordinator

You will have relevant qualification in any discipline relating to Public Health Engineering/promotion with extensive practical experience in developing countries in WASH programmes, some of this should have been in emergency refugee programmes at a coordination level.

You will need to have strong ability to present concise reports, sometimes at short notice, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for particular situations.

You will have interpersonal, diplomacy, tact and administrative skills in order to work with people at managerial and, on occasions, senior UN/government levels.

Public Health Engineer Team Leader

You will have relevant qualification in Public Health Engineering with extensive practical experience in developing countries in appropriate community health and environmental programmes.

Some of this should have been in emergency relief programmes, drilling boreholes and designing pipe network.

You will need to have strong assessment, analytical, planning, oral and written English reporting skills with ability to work under pressure and in response to the changing needs.

Public Health Promoter Team Leader

You will have relevant qualification in public health promotion with extensive practical experience in developing countries in appropriate community health and environmental programmes. Some of this should have been in emergency refugee programmes.

You will have experience and understanding of community mobilisation in relation to water and sanitation activities in complex humanitarian situation, and understanding of chronic and fluid humanitarian programmes.

Logistics Manager

You will have a minimum of a first degree in a related discipline with extensive experience in logistics management and co-ordination (strategy development, purchasing and supply, warehousing, team support, vehicle fleet management
and communications) in an international environment with volatile security and political situations.

Equally important is your interpersonal and team building skills as well as capacity and willingness to develop others.
