The Board of Trustees, National Social Security Fund (NSSF) wishes to fill the position of Managing Trustee of the NSSF, one of the largest public funds in Kenya.

Job Profile

As the Fund's Managing Trustee, the holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the Fund under the direction of the Board of Trustees of the NSSF to achieve the Fund's objectives as set out in the NSSF Act and the Strategic Plan.

The Managing Trustee shall receive guidance and direction from the Board of Trustees. This shall be done by formulating a clear strategy and setting agreed tasks and targets which shall be reviewed with the Board on a regular basis.

The Managing Trustee will therefore, provide the leadership, motivation and guidance to ensure that staff are motivated and focused in achieving the targets agreed with the Board.

More specifically, the job will involve among other responsibilities; the following:-

Provide Corporate leadership and guidance to achieve the mandate of NSSFDevelop and recommend the long-term strategy, business plans, annual plans and annual operating budgets to the Board.
Ensure that there is effective communication between the Management and the Board, between different levels of Management as well as between the Fund, Government and the other Stakeholders.
Ensure constant cost effective and efficient improvements in the quality and value of services and products provided by the Fund.
Ensure continuous achievement of the Fund's financial and operating goals and objectives, and oversee the implementation of the corporate policies and programmes and cost effective management of resources.
Maintain a conducive work environment to attract, retain and motivate employees, and foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good corporate citizenship.
Implement the policy reform objectives of NSSF.The ideal candidate will be in the age bracket of 40 years to 50 years.
First Degree in any one of insurance, law, accounting, actuarial science, economics, banking, finance or their equivalent from a recognized University.Masters degree in a commercial, management or equivalent field from a recognized University.Minimum ten (10) years experience which must have been in a senior management position in an organization of a similar size or complexity.Proven leadership and entrepreneurial skills, change management and strategic planning expertise and good interpersonal and analytical skills.
Knowledge of IT essential.Experience in matters relating directly to pensions and administration of schemes such as provision of social security, fund manager or administration will be an added advantage.Send your application with a detailed CV and a daytime telephone number stating current and expected salary.

Managing Trustee

The holder of this position is the Chief Executive Officer charged with overall leadership and management of the Fund and whose duties and responsibilities will include:

Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field or Agribusiness from a recognized University.Masters Degree in either Finance, Management, Economics or Agricultural Economics from a recognized university.Competence in financial, human capital and general administrative management.Background in Banking (Credit) or Development Finance will be an added advantage.Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience at senior management level in a successful organization preferably a Financial institution;Show an excellent track record of leadership and the ability to put together, motivate and retain a cohesive management team and an efficient workforce;Display aptitude in managing organizational change to generate efficiencies through innovative capacity planning and utilization;Be entrepreneurial, self-driven individual of impeccable integrity;Be conversant with and observe principles of Corporate Governance;Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills and computer proficiency.Employment will be a 4 years renewable contract with an attractive remuneration package.
