Role:The Wireless Networking Specialist shall be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the design, implementation and support of our client's LAN portfolio (which includes Aerohive, Cisco and Juniper products) including:· Working with the Presales Consultant to define customer requirements, providing the specific skills and knowledge required to produce an optimised solution which may include performing or supervising predictive or on-site wireless surveys etc. using industry-standard tools (Ekahau, OmniPeek)· The implementation of the WLAN element of a project, where necessary working with peers to deliver an end-to-end solution which may include wired data, voice or other security components. Implementation may include:o Physical installation of access points or other equipment as requiredo Installation of software (e.g. management software)o Configuration of the WLAN solution, working with peers or the customer where necessary, including AAA mechanisms and security configurations· The support of WLAN solutions, which may include:o Troubleshooting and identifying product software issues, implementation of short-term workarounds as necessary and escalating software bugs to the vendor for provision of a fixo Troubleshooting and resolving back-end issues, for example authentication issues, DHCP/DNS issues, application-layer issueso Troubleshooting and resolving RF issues, for example environmental issues, client issues, external interferenceo From time-to-time, the handling of support escalations for critical customer outages outside of normal business hoursThe successful candidate must have all of the following:· Recent experience of installing, configuring and supporting Enterprise Wireless (802.11) Network Solutions from one or more of the following vendors:o Aerohiveo Alcatelo Arubao Ciscoo HPo Merakio Meruo Motorolao Ruckuso Trapeze/Junipero Xirrus· Excellent customer-facing skills· Commercial awarenessThe successful candidate would ideally have one or more of the following:· Specific knowledge and experience of the Aerohive product set· Experience of performing predictive and on-site wireless site surveys using Ekahau software· Experience of RF troubleshooting using OmniPeek software· Knowledge of Enterprise VoIP solutions, ideally from Avaya and/or ShoreTel· Knowledge of wired (LAN) solutions, including layer 2/layer 3 switching, dynamic routing, ACLs and filtering, multicast – knowledge of Nortel/Avaya products an advantage but not essential· Knowledge of security solutions, including stateful firewalling, IDS/IPS and client security (NAC) solutions· Knowledge of Microsoft AAA components (IAS/NPS and Active Directory) and other AAA components (e.g. two-factor authentication solutions, “guest” ticketing systems such as Amigopod)Salary is negotiable but would include car allowance and bonus.
