Role:

The Wireless Networking Specialist shall be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the design, implementation and support of our client's LAN portfolio (which includes Aerohive, Cisco and Juniper products) including:

·         Working with the Presales Consultant to define customer requirements, providing the specific skills and knowledge required to produce an optimised solution which may include performing or supervising predictive or on-site wireless surveys etc. using industry-standard tools (Ekahau, OmniPeek)

·         The implementation of the WLAN element of a project, where necessary working with peers to deliver an end-to-end solution which may include wired data, voice or other security components. Implementation may include:

o   Physical installation of access points or other equipment as required

o   Installation of software (e.g. management software)

o   Configuration of the WLAN solution, working with peers or the customer where necessary, including AAA mechanisms and security configurations

·         The support of WLAN solutions, which may include:

o   Troubleshooting and identifying product software issues, implementation of short-term workarounds as necessary and escalating software bugs to the vendor for provision of a fix

o   Troubleshooting and resolving back-end issues, for example authentication issues, DHCP/DNS issues, application-layer issues

o   Troubleshooting and resolving RF issues, for example environmental issues, client issues, external interference

o   From time-to-time, the handling of support escalations for critical customer outages outside of normal business hours

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

·         Recent experience of installing, configuring and supporting Enterprise Wireless (802.11) Network Solutions from one or more of the following vendors:

o   Aerohive

o   Alcatel

o   Aruba

o   Cisco

o   HP

o   Meraki

o   Meru

o   Motorola

o   Ruckus

o   Trapeze/Juniper

o   Xirrus

·         Excellent customer-facing skills

·         Commercial awareness

The successful candidate would ideally have one or more of the following:

·         Specific knowledge and experience of the Aerohive product set

·         Experience of performing predictive and on-site wireless site surveys using Ekahau software

·         Experience of RF troubleshooting using OmniPeek software

·         Knowledge of Enterprise VoIP solutions, ideally from Avaya and/or ShoreTel

·         Knowledge of wired (LAN) solutions, including layer 2/layer 3 switching, dynamic routing, ACLs and filtering, multicast – knowledge of Nortel/Avaya products an advantage but not essential

·         Knowledge of security solutions, including stateful firewalling, IDS/IPS and client security (NAC) solutions

·         Knowledge of Microsoft AAA components (IAS/NPS and Active Directory) and other AAA components (e.g. two-factor authentication solutions, “guest” ticketing systems such as Amigopod)

Salary is negotiable but would include car allowance and bonus.

The successful candidate will come from a networking vendor/partner environment and will possess experience with a broad range of IP technologies but specialise in wireless network design and implementation. It is preferred that the applicant holds or has held HP Networking ASE and MASE qualifications.

You must be an excellent communicator who can be personable with clients as well as being able to document and present wireless technologies and designs.

Responsibilities will include pre/post sales telephone support both internal and external to the organisation, client facing wireless network health checks and consultancy, wireless network design and implementation and expert on site client assistance.

The ideal candidate will have experience with some or all of the following vendor's equipment:
HP Procurve, 3Com, Meru, Cisco, Netgear, Juniper (Trapeze).

solutions. This includes structured cabling, video conferencing, audio conferencing, multi-user
computing and headset solutions among others.

Job Title: Wireless Technician
Reports to: Network Solutions Manager

SUMMARY
Specialize in site survey, design, installation, configure and support wireless solutions

KEY TASKS
1. Client site survey for wireless installations
2. Design, install, configure and commission any wireless link
3. Fully install a wireless LAN for internet connectivity
4. Preparation of BOQs for wireless solutions
5. Installations of radio, canopies and wi-max
6. Installation and configuration of routers
7. Installation of base stations
8. Site surveys for LAN/WAN & WLAN requirement and come up with bill of quantity for proposal
9. Document a solution overview/design of the project with attached Technical drawings of the
same.
10. Installations of structured cabling
11. Provide technical advice to clients pertaining network solutions
12. Supervision of projects
13. Electrical design and installations
14. Network solution support
15. Do configurations of switches and routers in the administrative subsystem
16. Terminate fibre cables in any backbone link
17. Perform both fluke and Omniscan test and extract the result for documentation purposes
18. Prepare reports as required including the use of CRM
19. Any other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT
1. Possess at least a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
2. Certified installer by Siemons and Nexans
3. CCNA certified
4. At least two years experience in a similar position
5. Ability to prepare technical documentations, technical drawings, reports and solution overviews
using appropriate computer applications in coming up with such documentation
6. Owing to the unique focus the company has on Customer Service, the Engineer is expected to
exercise reasonable diligence in every task performed to ensure quality at all times.
