Operations Manager

Opportunity to join a leading Oil & Gas Operator on a residential or rotational contract basis.

Key responsibilities will include:
* Be a lead participant in Business Unit management meetings and develop relationships with other team members.
* Setting guidelines and practices for well site construction, restoration.
* Deputise for Business Unit Manager when in absence. Develop & adopt Deputy General Manager role.
* Represent Company with Govt agencies particularly on technical and operational matters.
* Bring onshore field operations and development experiences to Operations in Kenya
* Develop a close working relationship with technical representatives of State Oil Companies, JV partners and other key stakeholders and agencies, to keep them appraised of the activities.
* Represent company at formal meetings in area of responsibility
* Develop and manage operations budgets
* Prepare for future expansion of operations including potential for extended well test operations, project/development activities
* Develop local staff and local content as much as practicably possible.
* Currently, manage effectively the seismic, drilling and support operations following corporate EH&S guidelines
* Manage efficiently & effectively the exploration, appraisal and development operations/activities.
* Supervise in-country drilling and seismic operational activities

Key Experience / Skills:
* Stakeholder management, experience of working in a developing country and development of local staff are key areas for this role.
* Management of operations activities in the upstream oil and gas business especially complex and highly active onshore land operations. This is considered essential
* Team leader/manager with ability to delegate and NOT micro-manage given team's capabilities
* Working with different cultures in a developing country
* Track record in dealing with multi-disciplinary teams and interfaces
