Lake Basin Development Company Limited is the commercial wing of Lake Basin Development Authority which is a Regional Development Authority mandated to spearhead Development within the Lake Victoria Basin and its catchment regions, with a view of “fostering sustainable development and empowerment of the communities”. In view of this, the following positions are open for application from qualified candidates.

Finance Manager


The successful candidate will be the Head of Finance Department reporting to the General Manager. The job is initially on a three year contract, renewable, with an option of PP upon satisfactory performance.
The Job holder will be responsible for the planning, developing and evaluating financial policies, procedures, practices and systems as well as budgeting and financial resources control.Formulating and implementing financial and accounting policies and proceduresPreparing financial reports and ensuring that management information is accurate, adequate and reliable for decision makingMaintaining assets registersCo-ordinate budgeting and budgeting control procedure, managing recurrent and capital expenditure and preparing, analyzing and interpreting various reportsEnsure tax compliance and timely statutory returnsProvide the leadership to Finance team so as to achieve the Company’s goals and objectives.Qualifications and CompetenciesHolder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or a Business related field from a recognized University and full accounting qualifications (CPA,ACCA,ACA or an equivalent qualification).Must be a member of a professional body (ICPAK)/ ACCA of good standingDemonstrate Knowledge of IFRS & IAS, finance, accounting, audit, budgeting, and cost control principles and Working knowledge of ERP Financial moduleAbility to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projectionsAt least ten (7) years relevant experience in a reputable organization, three (3) of which must have served as head of finance functionExperience in manufacturing environmentLeadership and Negotiation skillsStrong interpersonal relations and demonstrate ability to build cohesive teams and achieve set targets through team workComputer proficiency with excellent Excel, Word and Accounting skillsEthical, honest and trustworthy
The successful candidate will be the Head of Sales and Marketing Department reporting to the General Manager. The job is initially on a three year contract, renewable, with an option of PP upon satisfactory performance.To provide direction in achieving corporate sales objectives by planning and directing all sales and marketing activities ensuring profitability and increased market share.Key Responsibilities:Formulate and implement sales and marketing policies and proceduresBuild & manage key business accountsDevelop a network of clientsDevelop and manage implementation of work plansProvide leadership to the marketing team and ensure marketing support to clientsDetermine strategic importance and manage execution of sales leadsInitiate market surveys, and manage customer satisfactionDetermine and meet monthly sales targets as agreed with managementQualification and CompetenciesHave a Bachelor Degree in Business Management or Commerce with Sales/Marketing optionMinimum of 7 years professional experience, 3 of which as head of Sales and Marketing functionGood communication and negotiation skillsDemonstrate initiative and innovative approach to workResult oriented and self-motivatedStrong interpersonal relations and demonstrate ability to build cohesive teams and achieve set targets through team workComputer proficiencyEthical, honest and trustworthyInterested candidates can submit their applications with detailed CV and photocopies of their testimonials, e-mail, contact address and telephone numbers, names and addresses of three referees to reach us on or before 31st January 2013. Please note that any form of canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification of candidates.
