Gertrude’s Institute of Child Health & Research, the training arm of Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, has been in existence since 1999 and offers various programs and courses; Higher National Diploma Program in Paediatric Nursing and Paediatric Critical Care Nursing as well as short courses such as European Paediatric Life Support / Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPLS/PALS), Emergency Triage Assessment Treatment PLUS Admission care of Sick Children (ETAT+) among others. The Institute’s vision is to be a leader in Professional Training of highly competent healthcare workers.
As part of its growth the hospital wishes to recruit a dynamic and committed individual to the position of a Tutor.Ref: HRD/04/2014
Key responsibilities will include:Plan and Organize trainings at the InstituteFacilitate training in Paediatric Nursing, Paediatric Critical Care Nursing, First Aid, Phlebotomy, Research, Paediatric HIV Management Course and clinical instructionMonitor and evaluate learnersParticipate in review and/or designing of curricularParticipate in conducting, review or supervision of research activitiesCoordinating students’ activitiesMarket all trainings facilitated by the InstituteA Registered Nurse with training at degree level (BScN/BSN) with a valid Practice License from Nursing Council of KenyaTwo years relevant experience in teaching in a Nursing Council of Kenya accredited Nursing SchoolSpecialist training in Paediatrics & Critical Care are an added advantageIf you are interested in this challenging position, please send a written application and C.V. together with a one page, typed testimony explaining why you feel that you are best suited for this position to:-
