Head of Marketing Job in Kenya

Duma Works is recruiting a Head of Marketing for one of our clients. 

The company operates market-leading content, classifieds and eCommerce sites, as well as a digital marketing agency across five African markets

Job Purpose Statement: The Head of Marketing is responsible for overall management of the offline marketing and content departments. 

The Head of Marketing is the main stakeholder in the Ecommerce business together with the Head of eCommerce and the Head of Operations.

Targets and Responsibilities

• Full ownership of offline marketing strategies for eCommerce in Kenya


• Own campaign from strategy reasoning down to execution within the given budget limits


• Management reporting on various marketing campaigns including the financial aspects of marketing campaigns


• Manage execution of marketing and content strategies


• Manage content team to ensure perfect execution of daily operations including the company’s blog


• Deliver insight and market trends to drive continual development of departments


• Manage relationships with external suppliers and agencies.


• Analyze business performance and highlight opportunities for improvement of sales, margins and profits from a marketing aspect


• Establishing our brands with proper framework, strategy


• Responsible for managing, training and overall oversight of his/her teams

Skills and Attributes

• Excellent project management skills including planning and reporting skills


• Excellent people management skills


• Good understanding of Offline Marketing, PR and Communications and understanding of online marketing


• Good understanding of sales marketing


• Excellent time management, communication, multitasking skills


• Ability to handle high-volume tasks


• Ability to work within tight deadlines

• General Manager


• Head of Ecommerce


• Head of country online marketing (heading the social managers)

Reporting to: Head of eCommerce

Deputy in case of absence: Assistant Marketing Manager

Direct Reports: Brand Manager, Assistant Marketing Manager, Content Manager
