The Head of Translation and Interpretation
Department will be responsible for:
- Coordinating all Translation / Interpretation
requests - Managing Translation / Interpretation Projects
- Managing a team of 10 translators /
interpreters - Translating documents
- Revising and self-revising translations
- Quoting, invoicing and monitoring payments
- Marketing Translation/Interpretation Services
- Experience as a Translator required (at least
3 years) - Translation Degree desired
- French as native language (required)
- Experience in managing Translation /
Interpretation project desired - PC literate
- Excellent communication skills in both French
and English (written & spoken)
- Good organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strict on respecting deadlines and works well
under pressure - High integrity and professionalism
- Team Player with a positive constructive
attitude - Flexible and ready to take on new
responsibilities - Good customer relationship
- Full time – 40 hours per week – One-year
renewable contract, 3 months probation period
Head of HR and Administration
Specific Duties will include:
- General HR administration including
recruitment, employment contracts, compiling and updating employee
records, performance evaluation - Provide professional support to line managers
and employees on employee – related matters - Supervise and coordinate the activities of the
technical and support staff - Provide administrative support to the senior
management team - Attend Departmental and Board meetings
including taking minutes - Coordinate procurement and general maintenance
- Undertake other duties to ensure smooth and
efficient running of the office
- Bachelor’s degree in HR,
- Diploma in HR management an added advantage
- Excellent command of spoken and written
English, good knowledge of French required - Excellent IT skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook - Knowledge of Kenyan labor legislation
Personal Qualities and Skills:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Good organizational skills and ability to work
under pressure - Ability to pay attention to details with a
flexible attitude - Team Player able to take on new
responsibilities - Pro-active and methodical and able to exercise
discretion - Service oriented team player and able to work
in a multi-cultural setting - High sense of integrity and professionalism
General Information: Full
time – 40 hours per week – One-year renewable contract, 3 months probation
period
