Organizing County-level Livestock Trade Shows
 

Kenya Semi-Arid Livestock Enhancement Support (K-SALES) is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) funded project that aims to improve the competitiveness of the cattle, sheep and goats (shoats) value chain by increasing productivity and boost marketing and trade of live animals and meat (cattle and shoat), and hides and skins and other livestock products value chains. 

 

The project covers six Counties under the Semi-arid zone II of Kenya namely; Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Meru, Tharaka Nithi and Taita Taveta.

The purpose of request is to invite prospective firms with successful track record in organizing livestock trade shows or similar events within Kenya.

Through these tradeshows, the project aims to;

• Expose smallholder livestock farmers to relevant productivity enhancement technologies.


• Facilitate match making between business services providers and the target end-users.


• Showcase outstanding breeds for cattle, sheep and goat for meat production.


• Enhance awareness among livestock stakeholders on the various market opportunities.

Interested firms and organizations are requested to submit a concept note (stage 1) of not more than 3 pages with details of the methodology to achieve the objectives described above.

If the Concept Note submitted is determined to be suitable, the organization will be invited to submit a full proposal application as a stage 2.

All concept notes should be emailed to info.ksales@idd.landolakes.com not later than 7th December 2015, at 5 pm EAT. 

Late applications will be automatically disqualified.
