Our client a multinational education entity is seeking to hire for the role of Technology Director.
Responsibilities
- Selection, implementation of Integrated ERP systems
- Ensure backup systems operate effectively
- Purchase hardware and software
- Provide the ICT technology infrastructures for an organization
- Contribute to organizational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning.
- Evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs
- Planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
- Scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems
- Researching and installing new systems
- Guaranteeing the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision
- Ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to
- Providing secure access to the network for remote users
- Securing data from internal and external attack
- Offering users appropriate support and advice
- Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems
- Mentoring and training new ICT support staff
- Manage other technology and hardware
Requirements
- Must hold a Bachelors degree in Computer science or related
- Must have hands on experience in Programming i.e. with SQL, Visual Basic ,C# and other languages
- Must have at least 10 years’ experience heading a busy Information systems department
- Must have strong hands on experience in Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) including development and implementation of the same
- Must be familiar (at least 5 years) with General business practices i.e. Human resource, Procurement and Planning, Budgeting etc.
- Experience in Sub Saharan Africa will be a great added advantage
- Should be readily available for travel within region.
