Production Supervisor / Foreman Job in Kisumu, Kenya

Position: Production Supervisor / Foreman
 

Location: Kisumu, Kenya
 

Sector: Woodwork / carpentry
 

Purpose: To manage the production processes so as to ensure a consistent supply of high quality goods that meet the sales demand.
 

Main Responsibilities

• Control of production process


• Drawing up a production schedule;


• Working out the resources needed;


• Estimating how long a job will take, costing it, and setting the quality standards;


• Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.


• Plant layout and materials handling, and production planning (including demand forecasting, production scheduling and the ordering of material).


• During the production stage the responsibilities encompass production control (the sequencing of jobs, updating time schedules, etc), stock control, quality control and the maintenance and replacement of production equipment.


• Product design and purchasing.


• Liaising with buyers, sales and engineering staff.


• Formulate and monitor adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Health and Safety and disaster recovery policies and guidelines


• Ensure raw and packing materials are available for production

Skill / Knowledge

• Degree / Diploma in Engineering preferably in Production


• Proficient computer knowledge


• Understanding of MRP/ERP

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ production experience in a workshop setup at a Supervisory level. The position requires an active person who will spend most of their time on the workshop floor monitoring the production team


• A suitable candidate will have a diploma or degree in an engineering-related field and experience with AutoCAD and standard business software are useful but not essential additional skills
