Urban Based Sacco General Manager Job in Kenya

A leading urban based Sacco in Kenya which apart from undertaking the core activity of Savings and Loans, also provides the following amongst its range of products;
 

1. FOSA
2. Catering Services
 

The Society has an ambitious growth agenda contained in a 5-year Strategic plan and wishes to recruit a dynamic and results oriented individual to fill the position of General Manager who will be key in driving this agenda.
 

 

Key Responsibilities
 

The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the management of the Sacco and shall directly report to the Board. 

The GM shall implement the Sacco Strategic Agenda and ensure sustained growth of the business to member’s satisfaction.
 

Key duties include; 

• Advise the Board on both short and long term investment options, propose and execute capital expenditure programs.


• Managing affairs of the Sacco under the direction of the Board of Directors


• Overall responsibility for financial and administration controls in the Sacco including execution and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.


• Advise on the portfolio balance and profitability of loaning options, and assess risk on all loaning policies.

Minimum qualification and experience 

• A minimum of a first degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Finance and a CPA (K). An MBA will be an added advantage


• At least five years relevant experience in a senior management position


• Experience in project management and implementation of new products and services within a service oriented environment.

Other Requirements 

• Excellent communication skills including working knowledge and proficiency in IT and in particular SACCO oriented ERPs.


• Excellent drafting and report writing skills. 


• Good understanding and knowledge of Budgeting processes and project justifications through Cost Accounting & Profitability Analysis


• Must be a Team player and leader with strong interpersonal skills


• Self-driven and with impeccable integrity
