Job Title: Concrete Pump Attendant
 

Department: Pump

Reporting Authority: Pump Operator  

Supervisor: Pump Operator
 
Direct Reports: None

Job Purpose: Offer assistance to the pump operator during the set-up of the pump and other pumping equipment, and during pump operation / site maintenance and servicing of the prime mover component of the pump (The Truck).
 

 

Major Accountabilities and Activities

• Assist Health and safety management on all related tasks on the pump and on site.


• Assist to safely set up, operate and safely maintain ready mix concrete pumping equipment.


• Attend to Company and/or hired pump to discharge concrete as required.


• Assist concrete pump operators to set up pumps and pipes to the required points at the site, in readiness for pumping concrete.


• Ensure cleanliness of the pump, pipes and other accessories after use and ensure their safekeeping.


• Perform minor servicing, oiling and greasing on the pump.


• Generate and Report all faults of the pump to the operator/ pump technicians.

Skills Required
 

Technical Competencies

• Craft Mechanical (Automotive option) or Hydraulics would be an added advantage.


• One to two years experience in a concrete manufacturing & pumping set-up.


• Analytical skills.


• Concrete knowledge will be an added advantage.


• Administrative skills- added advantage.


• Physical fitness.

• Crisis management skills


• People Coordination skills
