Gujirati Speaking Finance Manager

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Create independent compliance mechanisms to ensure these policies are followed.
- Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met in a timely manner including Withholding Payments, Income Tax, NSSF, NHIF, WIBA etc.
- Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the directors and the external auditors as necessary.
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
- Develop and maintain financial accounting and auditing systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Manage the cash flow and prepare daily/weekly cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
- Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Manage the acquisition of budgeted capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
- Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the Directors.
- Provide oversight to line staff and support them in achieving their performance targets.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
- Create a work plan for each financial year that realizes cost savings in the budget as a percentage of the turn over.
- Oversee budget and reallocation of funds where necessary to ensure availability of goods/ stock and avoid loss making procurement decisions
- Ensure availability of cash for day-to day operational expenses as approved by directors.
- Oversee the disbursement of cash budget and approve payments made for operational expenses (eg. petty cash, travel allowances etc) implement cost cutting methods of handling the same
- Oversee financial records for each project in a manner that facilitates management reports.
- Ensure that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with client requirements.
- Work closely with the project management team to identify, analyse and execute the most optimum financing solution for projects
- When needed, provide support to obtain project related bonds (e.g. advance payment and performance bonds)
Qualifications:
- Relevant University Master"s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Must possess CPA(K) or ACCA qualifications
- At least 15 years’ experience with at least five of these in a senior management capacity
- Deep knowledge of operational processes and implementation of the same
- Member of a professional accounting body is an added advantage
