Refrigeration Technician Job in Thika, Kenya

Our client, a market leader in Animal Processing Industry across Africa is seeking to recruit a Refrigeration Technician. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairs, overhaul and preventative maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities;

• Adhere to all food safety regulations while carrying out maintenance work including tools reconciliation.


• Ensure machines daily pre-operative and start up checks are carried out.


• Responsible for performing planned maintenance, regular service of chillers, freezers, refrigerated trucks & air conditioning systems


• Troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of refrigeration systems.


• Performing root cause analysis on refrigeration equipment  failures to prevent reoccurrence.


• Provide technical direction on preventative maintenance for all refrigeration and air conditioning equipments.


• Test malfunctions of refrigeration systems and components and repair them before breakdowns occurs.


• Inform the maintenance engineer of the required essential spare parts.


• Implementation of KAIZEN system and standards.


• Adherence to company’s FSSC/QSA/FSA/GMP/hygiene practices.


• Participating in any other duties that shall be reasonably assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications;

• Diploma in refrigeration and air conditioning.


• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in maintenance of industrial refrigeration equipment in FMCG.


• Knowledge of electrical power and control gear associated with industrial refrigeration plants.


• Strong interpersonal, planning and organisational skills.


• A high level of integrity and reliability


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal ( English & Swahili).


• A team player with attention to detail and follow up.


• Ability to work and deliver under pressure.


• Understands and acknowledges the views of others.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 40,000 - 60,000/= (Approx. 400 - 600 USD) depending on experience
