Job Vacancy: Regional Finance and Operations Manager
Salary: KES 250,000 - 300,000
Location: Nairobi
Duties and responsibilities
- Drive monthly and quarterly regional operational budgets process with company’s regional teams.
- Own all invoicing and collections for company’s customers across region.
- Coordinate regional operations including organizing high level meetings, arranging travel, assist in obtaining visas & other required documents, special events and organizing all staff meetings and trainings, and planning social gatherings for staff.
- Register, file and pay all regional, country and local government regulatory agencies in line with regulatory compliance (examples: tax return filing and payment, income tax filing and payment, etc.)
- Develop annual country program for overhead and facilities budgets.
- Maintaining online accounting (currently done in Xero) in a timely manner.
- Pay, manage and interface with contractors and vendors, including but not limited to lawyers, accountants, auditors, in line with all vendor contractual terms.
- Submit periodic requests for operating funds to the Regional VP and COO and manage bank balances to ensure adequate funds are available
- Liaise with landlords and service providers for electric, telephone, internet, water, security, cleaning and other services and ensure proper maintenance of all facilities
- Manage expenditures against the overhead and facilities budgets. Inform Regional VP and COO of all current or anticipated budget variances.
- Manage facilities including company relationship with building management; arrange for office improvements, outfitting and moving as necessary, décor and equipment upgrades; storage clearance and set up.
- Oversee office and storage lease and office inventory list.
- Facilitate relationships with Government agencies and other governmental bodies for proper registration of office in consultation with local counsel and bookkeepers.
- Ensure all conference rooms and workstations have fully functioning. Oversee selection of local vendors, develop and maintain contracts with the vendors including travel related, stationery, IT.
- Oversee procurement of office supplies and equipment in compliance with company’s policy and procedure.
- Maintain bank accounts for country operations, act as primary liaison with banks, and reconcile bank accounts and petty cash monthly.
- Manage Administration activities including leave tracking, new employee orientation, disciplinary matters, payroll and tax payments, and local employee benefit plans, in collaboration with Human Resources.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree; preference accounting, finance or any related field
- CPAK holder.
- 5-7 years of accounting and finance experience.
- 3 years working as a finance and operations Manager preferably in telecommunication Industry or IT Solutions Company.
- Candidates with regional experience will be an added advantage.
- Interpersonal skills and listening skills.
- Communication skills - verbal and written.
- Problem analysis and problem-solving.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Data collection and ordering.
