Retail Trade Marketing Manager
 


Role Profile: The role supports the central Marketing function, Sales Teams and farmer Demand generation in planning and implementing Annual Sales and Marketing Strategies. 





This will include devising 360 marketing campaigns at key seasonal periods to ensure company product visibility at retail in line with Category 1&2 Brand guidelines.



The incumbent strives to consistently make our client’s brands more accessible, affordable and visible to franchisees and farmers within an inviting retail environment while implementing Sales activation Strategies.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve/exceed Sales quota and maintain close relationships with franchisees to promote new products, close deals and ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

  • Provide direction and budgetary control to the Retail sales manager, Retail Account Developers, Agronomy and Livestock Demand Generation Teams in the implementation of promotional strategies.

  • Collaborate across Business functions to improve the franchisee retail experience and promote best-in-class shelf productivity and merchandising standards.

  • Develop new channels to assist Sales Teams grow volumes and analyze channel sales and promotion results to improve w/sale to Retail performance to 75%.

  • Conduct Shop level benchmarking, retail price comparisons, competitor promotions and product movements and feedback to Supply Chain and Sales Teams.

  • Identify and implement key Trade Marketing KPI’s for measurement of efficiency & return on investment.

  • Have a systematic retail outreach program to ensure our client’s Brand high share of mind with Shop Assistants, Distributor Sales Teams and community farmer influencers.

  • Create synergy in CRM and Technical Marketing data tracking, store capacity mapping, shops mapping and develop franchise network improvement plans.

  • Providing seasoned leadership in the translation and execution of the marketing strategy into Sales impact programs.

  • Co-work with the Retail Sales Manager and Retail Account Developers on share of shelf analysis and recommend shop-level margin optimization strategies.

  • Oversee the development and execution of BTL marketing programs such as Promo Days, Clinics, Demo events, supplier sponsorships and POS management.

  • Play an active role in the Demand planning processes to ensure consensus monthly Sales operations plans(SOP) and in-market promotional activity is accurately captured. 

  • Occasionally lead special projects for the marketing function and Conduct in-depth market research as part of the annual planning process. 

  • Maintain compliance with all Kenyan Advertising laws, standards and Kenya Veterinary Board regulations.


Required Knowledge, Education & Experience

  • A University Degree and 5years Category management experience in Agri-consumer packaged Goods(CPG) and at least 2years in a management position of more that 100+ SKU’s.

  • A strong track record of creating a winning Sales vision in an environment where there is a strong emphasis on merchandising, promotions, and customer partnerships.

  • Proven success working in a fast paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are complemented by hard-driving Sales and promotional campaigns.

  • Desire to build a Marketing infrastructure including processes, methodologies and tools required to drive Sales effectiveness.

  • Ability to create and implement Business strategies that grow sales & margins and manage key Retail and Sales metrics.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Lotus notes/Asana.
