Exciting Career Opportunity in the Truck Motor Dealership Sub-Sector

Our client is a leading car dealership with a commanding market reach and wide branch network in Nairobi, Eldoret, Nanyuki, Mombasa and Narok. 





The company has recently won a car dealership with Toyota East Africa to distribute Hino buses and trucks. 





As such the company seeks to set up the Hino division and  is looking for an energetic, self driven enthusiastic professional to fill the following position:

General Manager






 

1 Position

Role Overview:
Reporting to the group CEO, the general manager will be responsible for overall direction, managing, coordinating and supervising the activities of the company to ensure set monthly, quarterly, half year and annual sales targets are achieved.  





They will oversee the team’s achievements and also oversee other departments, such as after sales, accounts and finance and human resources and administration to ensure seamless operations.  





S/he will lead in formulating and administering organization policies to ensure that optimal performance and result oriented culture is built and fostered. 





They will be ultimately responsible for the performance and market growth of the Hino business line.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies, directing and coordinating all divisional department activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives;

  • Provide guidance and strategic planning for the dealership with respect to sales goals and targets;

  • Lead and motivate the team leaders  to ensure they meet the set team objectives and ensure they provide leadership and inspiration to their field sales teams;

  • Ensure sales volumes and profitability objectives are achieved by utilizing all sales channels in a continually changing environment;

  • Implement and execute all company-wide marketing initiatives so as to maximize their impact and to help meet or exceed sales goals;

  • Train and develop team members on sales techniques to ensure consistency and uniformity of sales approach;

  • Identify reliable  referral sources and prospects for dealership in order to create a strategy to develop relationships with prospects, and monitor and maintain positive referral source relationships;

  • Conduct sales meetings to motivate the team, set goals and share successful selling techniques and skills;

  • Develop strategies for enhanced market share and review existing sales and marketing strategies for effectiveness;

  • Constantly monitoring the performance of the team and make recommendations on what is working and what is not for the purpose of review;

  • Develop and enhance customer relationships by establishing, promoting, maintaining excellent customer service with sales operations;

  • Working closely with the group CEO, review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.


Qualifications and desirable experience

  • A degree in a relevant field from an accredited university;

  • At least 5 years working experience in sales and marketing in motor dealership, insurance, banking or any other target driven industry.

  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to inform, influence and persuade at various levels at either corporate or individual level;

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage several tasks and teams  simultaneously;

  • Flexible and willing to assume a range of unanticipated assignments;

  • Strong work ethic with superior professionalism and high level of responsibility;

  • An entrepreneurial minded personality with a strong business acumen and ability to smell opportunities;

  • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage work independently;

  • A strong  customer service oriented person with pleasant and outgoing personality ;

  • Adequate proficiency in ICT  especially MS Office Suite.
