Research and Investigations Officer Employment Opportunity (Re advertisement)
The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of The Ombudsman) is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 59 (4) and Chapter Fifteen of the Constitution, and the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011.
The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) has a mandate inter-alia, to investigate any conduct in state affairs or any act or omission in public administration in any sphere of Government and complaints of abuse of power, unfair treatment, manifest injustice or unlawful, oppressive, unfair or unresponsive official conduct.
CAJ seeks to recruit a qualified Research and Investigations Officer, Job Grade 7 reporting to the Director, Research and Investigations, Job Ref: CAJ/HRM/2/8 V3 (21).

Details of the position are as follows:
Duties and responsibilities entail:Investigating cases relating to administrative justiceCarrying out relevant research on issues that the Commission may deem fit from time to timeMonitoring and evaluating the status of complaints resolutionIdentifying systemic issues and recommending remedial measures and proactive actionInvestigating and reporting on compliance by State or Public Officers with the Constitutional and Statutory requirements relating to leadership, integrity and ethicsPreparing periodic reports on the status of the various complaintsImplementing best practice policies, procedures and systems for researchProviding necessary information to the Commission for purposes of vetting of persons where applicable.
Appointment to this position requires:-Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Sociology, Economics, Statistics, Law, Mathematics, or a relevant Social Science from a recognized institution.At least 2 to 3 years relevant experienceExcellent knowledge of use of econometric tools and statistical software especially SPSS, STATA and Excel;Understanding of qualitative, quantitative and participatory Research, Monitoring and evaluation methodologies and principlesExperience in data cleaning, management and analysis of large and complex household and other micro-level surveys;Ability to identify system deficiencies and develop / effect changes in systems/ proceduresSound knowledge and experience on investigationsQuick problem solving and decision makingSound environmental awarenessWorking in the governance sectorHave excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Be fluent in both English and KiswahiliMeet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenya ConstitutionBe a Kenyan citizenInterested applicants are requested to send their applications clearly indicating the Job Ref. on the envelopes and in their application letters together with a detailed CV and a copy of their National ID Cards either via hand delivery to our head office; or by post to the undersigned; or via email to rio.hrm28vol3_21@ombudsman.go.ke on or before 11th April, 2014 latest by 4.30 pm.

We are a fast growing medium sized commercial bank with established wide branch network across the country. We are seeking to recruit high calibre person s who can prove and demonstrate capacity to carry out their responsibilities with minimal supervision to fill the following positions:-
1. Credit Administration Manager
Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk, the Job Holder will be responsible for providing high quality risk management services to the Bank’s credit team ensuring adherence to credit risk policy and procedures. He/she will take charge of portfolio management, credit control and collateral management.
 Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in law, with 6 years experience in credit administration, 3 of which must be at middle level management. Professional banking qualifications will be an added advantage.
 Primary duties and responsibilities:Ensure the banks policies and procedures on credit facilities are adhered toOversee monitoring and renewal of loan covenants leases, rents, insurances and terms of the letter of offerParticipate in the preparation and review of credit control proceduresEnsure the soundness of the credit portfolio including perfection of securitiesConduct institutional trainings on security documentation.In depth knowledge of banking credit policy and approach to risk appetiteExperience in conveyance, litigation and bank securitiesExperience in credit administration and security documentationOversee and ensure that the credit files are well maintained with all the critical and relevant information regarding the loansOversee timely preparation and submission of statutory and other requisite reports and CBK returnsExperience in debt recoveryStrong interpersonal, management and leadership skillsDemonstrate ability to build cohesive teams to achieve goals through teamwork2. Investigations Manager

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the Job holder will be responsible for monitoring the operating environment, timely investigations of cases and making reports with recommendations to Management for decisions.
 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree, with 6 years experience in security, 3 of these should have been in the disciplined force. Professional qualifications such as forensic will be an added advantage.Primary duties and responsibilities:Carrying out independent, complex and sensitive investigations and produce a detailed and timely reports to management with specific recommendationsEstablish, conduct and maintain liaison with security organizationsEnsure timely preparedness, and put in place pre-emptive, counter and post incident measuresEnsure timely compilation of documents that support insurance claims and follow up the recovery process to timely conclusion.Understanding of banking regulations, procedures and operationsStrong interpersonal, management and leadership skillsExcellent communication and report writing skills If you believe you have what it takes to deliver, send in your application letter not exceeding one page explaining why you think you qualify and a detailed CV and indicate your current salary. Please indicate the position you have applied for, both on the envelope and application letter, to:

•Diploma or degree in security services or related field
•Over 3 years relevant investigations experience
•Able to work under minimum supervision and outside normal work hours
•Be aged above 35 years.
•Excellent report writing skills a must.
•EX – Disciplined forces investigation experience shall an added advantage.
•Diligent, honest and patient but firm individual.
•Ability to communicate clearly in English and Kiswahili.

Pay rage: 30,000/ – 50,000/ Per month
