Job Summary
The
position is responsible for implementation of the financial and accounting
aspects of the Commission, budgeting, reporting, implementing policies and
improving financial processes.
Reporting
to: Principal Finance and Account Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational
Responsibilities / Tasks
Prepares
payment vouchers and committal documents in accordance with approved procedures
and regulations.
Maintains
ledgers.
Maintains
cash books and debtor registers.
Prepares
and dispatching debtor statements.
Compiles
and analyses information required in the budgetary process.
Takes
part in processing medium term expenditure and revised budget estimates and
taking initial action on budget monitoring.
Takes
part in preparing budgets for recurrent and development votes.
Takes
part in counter checking expenditure commitments.
Takes
part in evaluating and scrutinizing expenditure proposals.
Prepares
briefs on budget and expenditure trends.
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s
degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Finance option),
Economics, Business Administration (Finance Option), Business Management
(Finance option), Finance or equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution.
