Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and work experience will also be considered.


• Proven experience as a FinOps Engineer, Cloud Financial Analyst, or a similar role, preferably in a technology-driven organization.


• Strong understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, cost allocation, and financial control frameworks.


• Familiarity with cloud technologies and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience optimizing cloud costs using tools such as CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, or Azure Cost Management.


• Proficiency in data analysis, cost modeling, and financial reporting.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.


• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


• Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.


• Certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Cloud Financial Management are advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Optimization: Collaborate with finance and operations teams to analyze and optimize costs across various areas of the business, such as cloud infrastructure, software licensing, and vendor management.


• Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost reduction or optimization. Present findings to stakeholders and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions.


• Financial Governance: Develop and implement financial governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines, cost allocation methodologies, and financial control standards.


• Budget Management: Work closely with finance teams to establish and manage budgets for technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and optimizing resource allocation.


• Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Design and implement monitoring mechanisms to track and report on cost, usage, and efficiency metrics. Generate regular reports for stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.


• Cloud Cost Optimization: Employ cloud cost management tools and techniques to monitor cloud resource usage, identify cost drivers, and recommend optimization strategies, such as rightsizing instances, reserved instances, or auto-scaling.


• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and engineering, to understand their needs, provide guidance on financial optimization, and ensure cost considerations are integrated into project lifecycles.


• Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within financial operations, including automation opportunities, workflow enhancements, and streamlining of financial processes.


• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to financial operations and cost management. Share knowledge and insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.
