Our client is looking for a Junior
Accountant to join their vibrant
team in Nairobi.
JOB PURPOSE
The selected candidate will
establish and maintain internal accounting controls as well as ensure the
preparation & submission of all financial process reports.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business
transactions are recorded accurately according to company policies and
regulations. - Update accounts receivable, payable and perform
reconciliations. - Ensuring compliance with KRA, and local legal requirements by
studying existing and new legislation - Assist in the preparation and processing of financial
statements e.g balance sheets & income statements in accordance with
legal and company accounting and financial guidelines. - Assist in budget preparation and expense management
activities for assigned accounts and other departments. - Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information
and preparing requested documentations. - Review and recommend changes to existing accounting
procedures. - Ensures the credibility of the accounts of the company in
accordance with the standards determined by management. - Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and
revenues. - Ensure tax returns are filed on a timely basis.
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as
assigned. - Assist in updating financial data in databases to ensure that
information will be accurate and available when needed. - Prepare and submit weekly/monthly/annually reports.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by
keeping financial information confidential. - Assist with other accounting projects.
- Or any other task assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 2-3
years’ experience as a junior accountant - Excellent
Knowledge in accounting software e.g QuickBooks - Certified
Accountant CPA (K) qualification - Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and
databases. - Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Awareness of the commercial trends and developments within
the industry - Corporate and personal tax experience
SKILLS
- Must have superb interpersonal and organizational skills with
proven ability to work independently and in a team setting. - Excellent organizing abilities
- Great attention to detail
- Good with figures and an analytical acumen
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting
principles and practices - Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills
with the enthusiasm and drive to significantly contribute to a
mission-based organization.
