Our client, a major player in the Coffee industry is looking to hire a Finance & Administration Manager reporting to the Managing Director.

The Finance & Administration Manager will have ownership of the financial ERP system and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial management information is generated to support management decision-making.

In addition, the position holder will manage general administrative matters that are essential for the continued running of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main responsibilities in this role include to:
* work with the top team to develop the corporate strategy & to ensure implementation of relevant aspects.
* ensure established policies are adhered to and continuous review effected in keeping with changes within the industry.
* co-ordinate the preparation of budgets, cash flow forecasts and business plans and monitor performance against budget and corporate goals.
* co-ordinate the preparation of financial and management accounts.
* manage and improve the company’s financing of working capital and cash flow.
* manage and continuously improve effective and efficient systems for the maintenance of financial, people and administrative records.
* liaise with both internal and external Auditors in all matters relating to company audit and preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
* liaise with Company Secretary on company secretarial issues and ensure compliance with legal, Tax and other financial/personnel regulatory requirements.
* manage the finance department, taking responsibility for the departmental finances and budgets as well as the staff and their HR issues including career development, appraisal, training and performance management
* manage the administrative functions of the organization, ensuring the facilities and other resources are well managed including maintenance, cleaning, security and staff transport; ensure the correct administration of the medical scheme & insurance of vehicle, property etc.

REQUIREMENTS:
The position is a very hands-on role, requiring a highly motivated, independent, individual with at least 5 years working experience of managing finances or audit in a busy commercial environment.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of business management, strong financial analysis and forecasting skills, experience in management of cash flows, with working knowledge of current tax and professional regulations and updates.

He/she will have strong communication and negotiation skills, will be computer literate with exposure to modern accounting and office management packages, and will have experience and skills in change management.

The salary for this position is KShs 90,000 gross per month.

Job Description

The role reports to the Partners/Directors and supervises Audit Seniors/Consultants on various assignments at any one time. The applicant should be ready to lead assignments and will take a lead role in the firm’s business development initiatives. The role will provide excellent career progression for the right person.

Responsibilities

Team Leading

Planning, leading, managing and supervising execution of external audit and other accounting / advisory engagements Assisting with the setting of budgets, pricing and deadlines and ensuring that audit and other assignments are completed within these limitsReviewing audit / accounting / advisory work and finally signing-off on delivery reportsRegular meetings with clients to obtain updates on their business, discussing issues and presenting audit findingsInteracting directly with Partners on matters related to client and engagement managementSetting objectives (goal-setting) with the audit team, providing support and coaching for more junior staff, and giving them constructive feedback on their performanceTraining, coaching and developing Staff and Senior accountants for advancementEnsuring quality audit work and client serviceCommunicating with clients as well as the internal accounting and audit departments of clients to ensure delivery of exceptional client serviceEstablishing client relationships, anticipating client needs, responding their queries, being alert to both commercial concerns and technical accuracyEnsuring the set project recovery levels are met, audit fees are billed and collected on timeAssist with strengthening existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities by participating in sales meetings and working on proposalsQualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, ACA) with at least 5 years audit experience with a reputable audit firm, of which 3 years are in managerial capacityStrong business awareness and an ability to identify audit issues arising from transactionsStrong leadership and business development skills and integrity within a professional environmentTechnically good knowledge of modern auditing methodologies, ISAs and IFRSsGood working knowledge of Kenyan tax lawsExcellent supervision, communication and ICT skills (especially knowledge of VT, Quickbooks)An additional qualification in ICT will be advantageousStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishTeam player, with the ability to multi-task, be flexible and work under pressureSocially confident with good diplomacy and organisation skillsSelf starter with good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solvingDedicated and hard-workingHow to apply
