The Africa Educational Trust is a successful charity that has been a key player in working to support education in Africa for more than 50 years. Current programmes are in Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda, focussing on innovative methods by which the excluded and marginalised can receive relevant quality education. To work as part of the Nairobi/UK Programme Co-ordinator team to raise funds for education programmes through building relationships with regional donors, working with national staff on proposal development, writing high-quality funding applications, and managing and reporting on donor grants.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo write successful project funding applicationsTo manage key donor relationships and seek new funding sourcesTo work with national staff teams on strong programme development prior to submission of applicationsTo monitor funding pipe line for a specific AET country programmeTo manage grants ensuring donor complianceTo monitor one AET theme and share learning e.g. peace building, inclusive educationKey skills, knowledge & experienceThree years work in development sector in an African countryThree years proven track record in successful programme fund raisingExcellent writing and analytical skillsExperience of monitoring and evaluation, and donor requirementsFinancial skills for project budgeting and reportingBachelor’s Degree in education or field related to developmentApplication Procedure Send your application letter stating how you meet the above criteria, and CV with names of 3 referees to admin.nairobi@africaeducationaltrust.org and see AET website for fuller job profile.

In addition to teaching, our organization’s volunteers engage in:
Public relations
Fundraising
Legal
Finance
Project experts (i.e., Peace farm and food relief initiatives)
Media
At the centers, directors divide their time between teaching and nurturing the children and working on international tasks. All directors manage one or more of our international task teams such as university relations, photography, fundraising and media. Special projects constantly arise and include moving food during famine feeds to monitoring children during breaks. Our center directors have a lot of say in what they do and must possess excellent time management skills.

Those who are secure without the comforts of home gain the most from this valuable opportunity. Although we are mainly seeking those with the above expertise, IHF is willing to consider those with transferrable skills if you can demonstrate them during our application process. Fluency in English, both written and spoken is essential. Those interested in volunteering at an IHF centre are required to complete a level of pre-trip duties in order to gain an understanding of how grassroots organizations function.
Salary / Pay: IHF is a voluntary organization in the greatest sense of the term. Nobody is paid a wage from top to bottom. Directors must commit to serve at least a year at the center. Accommodation and food is supplemented by IHF.

We offer the privilege of education to those who without our organization could not reach it. IHF has no central headquarters, as each center is a product of its environment and follows the cultural code and norms of its host country. IHF volunteers teach English, computer and math classes as well as maintaining relationships with local staff and the local population at every centre.
In addition to teaching, our organization’s volunteers engage in:
Public relations
Fundraising
Legal
Finance
Project experts (i.e., Peace farm and food relief initiatives)
Media
At the centers, directors divide their time between teaching and nurturing the children and working on international tasks. All directors manage one or more of our international task teams such as university relations, photography, fundraising and media. Special projects constantly arise and include moving food during famine feeds to monitoring children during breaks. Our center directors have a lot of say in what they do and must possess excellent time management skills.

Those who are secure without the comforts of home gain the most from this valuable opportunity. Although we are mainly seeking those with the above expertise, IHF is willing to consider those with transferrable skills if you can demonstrate them during our application process. Fluency in English, both written and spoken is essential. Those interested in volunteering at an IHF centre are required to complete a level of pre-trip duties in order to gain an understanding of how grassroots organizations function.

Shulefiti Educational Resource Centre is looking for young, intelligent and highly motivated people to take the position of education content retailers.

Requirements:

1. Have attained KCSE GRADE C- and above

2. The person should be aged 18-24 years

3. Persons must be residing or ready to relocate to Nanyuki.

4. Certificate in Computer Packages will be an added advantage.

The job entails development and retail of educational resources to schools and individuals. It is part-time (3 hrs per day) while remuneration rate is ksh.5000 pm renewable monthly contracts.
