A leading exporter of horticultural produce with own farms and pack houses is seeking to fill the position of Finance Manager

Job Objective

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the incumbent will lead, manage, and develop the services of the Finance unit such that all the financial management processes of the company are delivered in accordance with highest governance and professional standards, and all company decisions, those of its Members and Officers are made with the benefit of clear and timely financial information and advice.

Accordingly he/she will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of sound financial management policies and procedures.

Principal Accountabilities

To provide a comprehensive financial support service to the Company including accounting and budgeting, financial analysis and advice, financial planning, internal audit, insurance and risk management, procurement, treasury management, payroll and pensions, financial systems management, the payment of creditors and the collection of debts to enable the company’s services to operate to the highest possible standards of financial management.To review, develop and control the Company’s financial processes in order that they remain robust over time and meet the applicable contemporary financial standards of external assessors.To provide specialist financial advice, in written or oral form to the Company and the chief executive, Management Team and senior officers, and participate in meetings in order to ensure that all decisions are taken with appropriate and full financial advice.To perform service management tasks including service planning, budget monitoring, induction and appraisals, performance monitoring and statistical returns, contract management in order that Finance Unit services are in accordance with corporate standards and policies, and staffs are properly motivated to deliver the services required.Formulate and implement best practice financial management strategies, policies and accounting systems.Participate in developing long-term corporate strategy and business plans.Provide guidance and expertise in formulation of forward budgets and cash flow projections for the units and the group.Organize and coordinate reviewing of performance against budgets and cash flows.Direct, oversee and coordinate the work of unit accountants to ensure accurate and timely preparations of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.Review and interpret the units’ and the overall trading repots and financial statementsAdvise the board and the senior management on all financial matters including capital commitments and investment plans of the group.Develop and implement cost rationalization strategies to ensure reduction of overall operating costs.Serve as champion and link person to senior management of overall company for purposes of financial performance contract planning, negotiating, monitoring, evaluating and reporting.Train and develop accounting staff to ensure financial management functions and responsibilities are effectively and efficiently discharged to enhance financial integrity and safeguard company assets.Oversee the running of the IT department.A bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration degree with specialization in Finance and audit or equivalent.Holder of CPA (K) and member of ICPAK or their equivalents.A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting at an equivalent level, 5 of which should be in a large organization with a national scope.Practical knowledge of tax and other compliance requirements preferably from a big horticultural company.Strong computer skill, accounting packages and relevant software like pay roll and similar ERP applications.Budget development and oversight experience.Excellent communication and interpersonal relations.A team player and good people management skills, with proven leadership skills.Good analytical and decision making skills.10. Member of a professional body with a good standing to date.The position is to be filled immediately.

Senior Procurement Officer HCDA Job Group 4 1 Post
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Senior Procurement Officer will perform the following duties:-

Duties and responsibilities:
* To lead, coordinate and help develop consolidated annual procurement plans
* Timely procurement of goods and services in liaison with the user Department.
* Ensure compliance with relevant government policies on procurement, supplies management and disposal.
* Ensure security and safe custody of stores.
* Issuing and rationing of stores where demand exceeds supply.
* Processing orders, and follow up of outstanding deliveries.
* Recommending disposal of unserviceable stores.
* Preparation and submission of monthly procurement reports.
* Take an active lead in introduction, development and implementation of best Procurement practices.
* Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Managing Director or any other duly authorized officer.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce (Supplies Management option) or relevant field. A Masters degree in a related discipline will be an added advantage.
* Post Graduate Diploma in Supplies Management or its acceptable equivalent.
* Working knowledge in Public Procurement and Disposal procedures as contained in the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 and Regulation 2006 as well as development partners.
* Minimum of three (3) years working experience as a Procurement/Supplies Officer or a comparable position in a busy organization.
* Computer literacy.
* Membership to K.I.S.M, C.I.M or C.I.P.S.

Senior Systems Analyst HCDA Job Group 4 1 Post
Reporting to the General Manager-Marketing, the Senior Systems Analyst will perform the following duties:-

Duties and responsibilities:
* Be the technical vocal point for the Authority and ensure successful implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, ICT Policy and any other systems
* Planning, Monitoring and evaluating ICT activities
* Systems development and implementation
* Ensure Preventive Maintenance of ICT equipment and availability of internet, website, network and printing services
* Preparation of progress reports of system development efforts
* Preparing performance reports of staff members in ICT section
* Ensure that all databases are operational and preparation of reports
* Provide specification and technical advice with regard to procurement
* Liaising with user management to establish and ensure that information processing needs are being satisfactorily met.
* Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or relevant field. A Masters degree in a related discipline will be an added advantage.
* Hands-on knowledge of database systems such as Oracle/SQL and Windows Server environment is desirable.
* Professional qualifications in ICT such as MCSE, CISCO, CCNA.
* Hands-on knowledge of internet technologies, programming languages, networking technologies and ERP Systems
* Demonstrate competence in working in different hardware and software environments and complex systems under minimum supervision
* Knowledge and competence in system analysis, design, programming and communication skills.
* Membership to computer society of Kenya or any other recognized professional body.
