Junior Macro Strategist and Economic Data Specialist

A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced data specialist to be part of their cutting edge research team.

This highly visible role is an opportunity to use your in-depth knowledge of macroeconomic data sources, and your technology skills, to collaborate with researchers in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

Acting as the subject matter expert, this position requires taking charge of the accuracy and timeliness of the market data and economic data used in trading and investing decisions.

This position requires a college degree, excellent communications skills and 2-4 years relevant experience with a major bank, asset manager or financial data provider.

In addition to the above, the individual will also serve as a macro strategist; this requires the candidate to research global economy in search of investment opportunities.

Candidate should have a strong economics background to enable him/her to conduct research as well as strong math and technical skills to be able to build models to analyze large sets of data to test/confirm theories.

Strong writing skills are an absolute must. Ability to independently research Macro factors influencing the business environment in Sub-Saharan African (SSA) Markets. Requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Degree from a top school with a major in Economics, Mathematics or Business Administration or a related field is preferred.

Job Description:

The International Health and Development Division of ICF Macro (formerly Macro International Inc.) seeks a Technical Advisor Health Information Systems (HIS) to join our team. The HIS Technical Advisor will work on the portfolio of public health related M&E activities under USAID's technical assistance (TA) project for global health programs.

The portfolio focuses primarily on the monitoring and evaluation of programs directed at improving quality, availability and use of essential health services.

He/She will assist in providing technical inputs and oversight to the integration and use of data management information systems and tools to facilitate data entry, transmission and use.

Key function of this position will be capacity building among information systems users at the national, county, district and community levels of government and health facility personnel.

The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Specific responsibilities include:

The International Health and Development Division of ICF Macro (formerly Macro International Inc.) seeks a Malaria Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team.

The M&E Officer will work under the supervision of the Resident Malaria Advisor to provide technical assistance in implementing the Division of Malaria Control's monitoring and evaluation framework.

The MEASURE Evaluation Kenya malaria portfolio focuses on capacity building for M&E, strengthening surveillance systems, promoting data demand and information use and support for impact evaluations.

The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct health information system assessments with an eye to providing technical assistance on strengthening systems for malaria surveillanceImplement new tools for malaria M&E including field testing and national scale-up as required.Participate in study design, data analysis and protocol writing TA as requiredAssist the DOMC in reviewing performance and quality of service delivery, on-the-job mentoring for health workers, and evaluation and use of strategic informationContribute to strengthening national level collaboration for Kenya's national malaria M&E framework.This will be achieved by participating and contributing to technical discussions on malaria treatment, prevention and BCC/IEC M&E requirements.Provide monthly activity updates to the Kenya MEASURE Evaluation activity lead and to the DOMC and write quarterly and annual progress reports in collaboration with the same.Conduct other duties as assigned by the Kenya MEASURE Evaluation malaria activity leadPost-graduate degree in epidemiology, demography, statistics, infectious disease control with preference for malaria3 years experience in infectious disease control monitoring and evaluation.
