The National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC Foundation) is an independent, nonprofit organization that connects the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with private-sector organizations and individuals to build public health programs.

In collaboration with CDC-Kenya and the Ministry of Medical Services (MOMS) and Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MOPHS), the CDC Foundation seeks an mHealth (Mobile Health) Project Country Manager for the PEPFAR (President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Reporting to CDC Foundation, and with technical oversight provided by CDC-Kenya, the Project Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing the PEPFAR mHealth initiative.

Key responsibilities:

Manage contracts for services and products across the Partnership;Develop service level agreements (SLAs) for information technology services and oversee end-user support activities across technology solutions;Provide technology solutions and design, develop and test activities in partnership with the two health ministries, CDC ICT Leaders, technology partners and vendors;Develop and implement system training strategies and plans;Work with the two health ministries and CDC ICT Leaders to develop support and escalation plans;Manage relationships between the Government of Kenya, key HIS stakeholders, donors/partners, in-country CDC and PEPFAR teams; andManage the Partnership’s budget and project requirements and deliverables and mitigate any project risks or shortcomings.A Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business or a related field;A minimum of 10-15 years experience in public health;Excellent analytic and quantitative skills and a background in technology implementation;Experience in designing Health Information Systems (HIS), knowledge and understanding of national enterprise data models for HIS is highly desirable;Experience in managing multiple teams and collaborating with a wide range of entities working in the public health field;Ability to solve complex problems especially in resource constrained environments;Experience in preparing complex documents such as reports to donors, meeting summaries and peer reviewed articles is strongly preferred;Project management experience including demonstrated success in managing large, complex projects to successful completion; andAbility to travel extensively.Applicants should submit their application with a detailed CV, stating their current position, remuneration, e-mail and telephone contacts, quoting reference number CDC – 02/11 on both the application letter and envelope.

Job Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator

The KMOD/WRP Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all KMOD/WRP studies and projects are of the highest quality.

The responsibilities will be in the areas of:

Directing the staff in the execution of clinical protocolsMonitoring and EvaluationSOP Development and MaintenanceLab Quality Control.He/she will be reporting directly to the program Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop overall Quality Assurance master plan for all studies and program activities with the approval of the Director. These plans will be used by the Quality Assurance Coordinator and the KMOD/WRP staff to guide and ensure that all aspects are being maintained at their highest levels.

These activities include, but are not limited to the following areas:

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Development and overall oversight of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plans for the all KMOD protocols and program.Coordinate and conduct internal M&E activities in conjunction with other program staff.Submit internal M&E reports to the director and Principle Investigators (PI).Directly responsible for communication, protocol development and protocol execution (including logistics) Protocol & Standard Operating ProceduresCoordinate and develop relevant program Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by ensuring that all aspects of the SOP are addressed by the necessary staff or external experts as needed.Oversee the modification of Protocols and SOPs and ensure that the proper scientific and ethical permits are obtained.Ensure that scientific and ethical reports are submitted and renewals are obtained in a timely manner. Maintain and advise the appropriate staff of these schedules.Development and oversight of all lab related activities at the field sites and at AFMH.Ensure that proper SOPs are developed and maintained for labs and lab related activities.Train lab staff on routine basis and as needed.Conduct internal M&E of labs and lab procedures to ensure results are of highest qualityRepresent KMOD/WRP at meetings with partner organizations such as CDC, USAID, MOH and other partners.Perform other tasks as directed by the Director.At least a degree level or equivalent in a clinical study related field.At least three years experience in clinical research studies.Demonstrated Monitoring & Evaluation experience.Demonstrated good report writing skills.Ability to professionally represent the KMOD/WRP studies and project at high level meetings with USG officials, Kenya government agencies, research organizations, and funders.Proficiency in the use of MS Office.The highest moral character and integritySelf driven and team player capable of working with minimum supervision.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent follow up and completion skillsIf you feel you are the candidate of the advertised position, please send us your application along your up-to-date CV and testimonials.
