General Chef / Cooks Job - Urgent
We are a leading eco-lodge based in Chyulu hills seeking to recruit suitable candidates for the above position.
Location: Chyulu hills
The suitable candidate will be based in Chyulu Hills where the lodge is based and should be willing to work there.
He/she will have to be prepared to live in the bush, with no communication or telephone and very limited social life.
Urgent position available immediately
Qualifications
The selected candidates will hold a Diploma in Food Production or related from a recognized institution.
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years’ experience in a busy 4-5star hotel set up or in a small luxury lodge in the bush.
Familiarity in Italian cuisine and a flair for the same an added advantage.
Must be Kenyan citizen above 25years.
International exposure a definite advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare meals as assigned for Camp guests and management as per the set policies and procedures to international standardsModify and create new menus; variety is encouragedEnsuring provision of timely meals as per the set time schedulesDeveloping well balanced menus to meet changing clients’ needsAvoiding wastage by deploying and using resources optimally and apply stock controlsEnsuring portion controlEstimate food consumption for optimal purchase of the sameStandardize production recipes to ensure consistent qualityMaintain the kitchen environment adhering to safety standards and hygieneAny other duties as requiredAbility to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services.Able to work long hours, nights, independently and are self-starters.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detailAbility to work effectively with a team in a culturally diverse environmentTeam playerAbility to work under pressureCreative FlexibleSalary: Negotiable.
