Appointment of Seven (7) Members of County Land Management Board – Mombasa County

Pursuant to the provision of Article 67 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and National Land Commission Act No. 5 of 2012, the National Land Commission invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the positions of Members of County Land Management Boards for Mombasa County.
 




Duration of Service: The members to the County Land Management Board shall hold office for a term of five (5) years and shall not be eligible for re-appointment. 


The Board shall operate on part-time basis.

Job Specification:
 




To qualify for appointment as a member of the Board a person shall be: -
 



a) A citizen of Kenya and above 18 years of age
 



b) Hold a degree in one of the following areas: -


  1. Land and Natural Resources

  2. Agricultural and related fields

  3. Land Economics/Real Estate

  4. Land use Planning

  5. Survey

  6. Social Sciences

  7. Law

  8. Economics

  9. Management

  10. Accounting

  11. Any other related/relevant field


e) Meets the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.




d) Ordinarily a resident of the County of Mombasa.

Duties of the County Land Management Board: In the performance of their functions, the County Land Management Boards shall be subject to the Physical Planning and Survey Acts and any other relevant statutes.





The duties of the board shall include: -
 



1. Processing of the transactions to be approved by the Commission on:- allocation of public land, change of user, extension of user, sub division of public land, renewal of leases, extension of leases,
 



2. Inspecting all the public land allotment for adherence to planning requirements,




3. Encouraging use of alternative and traditional dispute resolution mechanisms in land dispute.




4. Perform any other functions assigned by the Commission or by any written law.
