Job Title: Solar Company Junior Technician (Kisumu)

Our client has an outstanding career opportunity for a junior technician to join their company. They are a leading internationally recognized design, manufacturing, marketing, sales and after sales Company of Solar Electricity (PV), water heating systems and street lighting. They recently received additional funding that will help in setting up and supporting their operations in Africa.

Job Purpose

To work as an effective member of the local team at designated branch

To ensure a positive customer experience for all customer’s served by the branch

Responsible for installation of the Company’s products to highest standards of quality

Responsible for responsive after-sales service / trouble-shooting, and selling of service packages
Key Junior Technician Responsibilities

Install systems in line with the Company’s quality standards

Ensure preventive maintenance completed in line with company’s quality standards, in timely manner

Trouble-shoot / close complaints within 48 hours

Report back to the branch any customer complaints identified in the field

To effectively sell service packages to existing customers, as well as non-Orb customers

Regularly attend training organized by the Company, and improve installation/maintenance skills

Complete all Company documentation in a clear, consistent and timely manner and return to branch

Respond efficiently and effectively to your line manager

Strictly follow the Company’s standard operating procedures (SOP)

Always attend the mandatory weekly meeting
Minimum Technician Qualification

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)

One year working experience

Or, candidate with 3 years house-wiring experience

Disciplined worker, can operate according to Company schedule

Organized thinker, neat in his / her work

Self-starter with initiative

Able to travel at short notice

Competencies and Skills

Strong and aggressive motivation.

Speedy action and proactive

Ability to work independently

Accuracy and attention to detail
