Vacancy: Senior Horticulturalist – Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Our client, a leading Agricultural Company dealing with high quality organic and conventional produce is looking for a Senior Horticulturist to plan and execute farm management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage commercial organic fruits, vegetables and spice farming.


• In charge of pest scouting, disease identification and remedial measures.


• Compilation of package of practices and cost of cultivation.


• Protected agriculture – green house or tunnel house.


• Handling and maintenance of irrigation systems.


• Selection and application of alternate origin fertilizers.

Qualifications:

• Must have a bachelor degree in horticulture or related discipline.


• Must have 5 years experience in a similar role.


• Experience in handling and maintenance of large scale irrigation systems.


• Good exposure in organic farming and must have implemented ICS.


• Understand US NOP / EU / JAS / Demeter standards.


• Must have Global GAP experience .

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 133,000 – 142,500 ( Approx. 1,400 – 1,500 USD ) depending on experience and qualification
