Job Description

Vacancy: Senior Horticulturalist – Dar Es Salaam, TanzaniaOur client, a leading Agricultural Company dealing with high quality organic and conventional produce is looking for a Senior Horticulturist to plan and execute farm management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage commercial organic fruits, vegetables and spice farming.

In charge of pest scouting, disease identification and remedial measures.

Compilation of package of practices and cost of cultivation.

Protected agriculture – green house or tunnel house.

Handling and maintenance of irrigation systems.

Selection and application of alternate origin fertilizers.

Qualifications:

Must have a bachelor degree in horticulture or related discipline.

Must have 5 years experience in a similar role.

Experience in handling and maintenance of large scale irrigation systems.

Good exposure in organic farming and must have implemented ICS.

Understand US NOP / EU / JAS / Demeter standards.

Must have Global GAP experience .

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 133,000 – 142,500 ( Approx. 1,400 – 1,500 USD ) depending on experience and qualificationDeadline: 3rd July 2015
