Job Description
Our client is the largest listed investment company in East Africa with shares listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange and cross listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange.
In the current strategy period, they intend focus their development activities on eight key sectors of the economy and grow their total assets from the current Kes 41Billion to Kes 120 Billion by 2019.
To support this growth, our client wishes to recruit an entrepreneurial and highly ambitious individual of high integrity as the Finance Director.
The incumbent will be the Chief Financial Officer of the Group; an architect of value focusing on delivering the company’s growth amidst a complex and dynamic environment.
The incumbent will be directly responsible for the profitable delivery of the Financial Management, Tax, Treasury and Information Technology services.
He/she will work closely with the Group Board of Directors, and from service delivery perspective report directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer and the Managing Directors of the various Subsidiary Companies.
He/she should be a seasoned Finance professional and demonstrate experience across Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance, Tax and Treasury Management, with a track record of developing and leading diverse successful teams.
The specific responsibilities of the role will include but will not be limited to;
1. Financial Reporting across the Group
Coordinate and report financial performance and projections in compliance to regulatory standards.
2. Analytics and Business Decision Partnership
Proactively ensure that the Group business decisions are grounded in sound financial advice and insights.
3. Financial Planning and Performance Management
Support the Group CEO in developing strategy. Lead the execution of strategy through effective planning and performance management.
4. Group Funding and Deal/Project Structuring
Lead Group funding initiatives and support the Investment team in deal structuring.
5. Treasury Management
Management of the Group’s liquidity and mitigation of operational and financial risks.
6. Compliance Oversight
Management of the Group’s compliance and control environment in matters reporting and tax and ensuring compliance with the various debt covenants.
7. Stakeholder Engagement
Support the Group in developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders.

The appropriate educational and professional qualifications requisite for a Chief Financial Officer of a listed entity in Kenya.
