IRDO VMMC Surgeons, VMMC / HTC Counselors and Infection Prevention Officers Jobs in Kenya

Impact Research and Development Organization is a registered Kenyan NGO with a main office in Kisumu and regional offices in eight counties. 

IRDO’s principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate HIV/AIDS research and intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and local communities. 

We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to fill in the following positions.

VMMC Surgeons 

(12 Positions)
 

 

Job Summary: Provide Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) services, screen and manage Sexually Transited Infections, in the targeted districts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Community Health Nursing or Clinical Medicine and Surgery.


• Must have at least one year’s experience in a busy health facility.


• Should have training and practical experience in Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision.


• Knowledge on HIV/AIDS care and treatment is an added advantage.


• Ability to diagnose and treat Sexually Transmitted Infections.


• Must be pleasant, have good communication and leadership skills; and willing to work under pressure.

VMMC / HTC Counselors 

(6 Positions)
 

Job Summary: Provide VMMC education and counseling and HTC to clients

Minimum Requirements:

• Certificate in HIV Counseling and testing from a recognized institution.


• Trained on HTC new algorithm.


• Should have training and practical experience in VMMC counseling.


• Must be pleasant, have good communication skills and willing to work under pressure.

Infection Prevention Officer 

(6 Positions)
 

Job Summary: Sterilize surgical instruments for VMMC and clean the office

Minimum Requirements:

• Form IV Certificate


• Should have training and practical experience in infection prevention and control


• Must be pleasant, have good communication skills and willing to work under pressure.
