Lubricants Business Analyst

Reporting to lubricants Sales & Marketing Manager, Business analyst will provide management information; analyse investments and potential deals; provide general support for key projects and initiatives. 

The role involves conducting critical analysis of pricing and financial information to support and enable management make the appropriate decisions and meet business objectives.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Perform business analysis required for decision-making in the lubes class of business.


• Participate in the planning process as required with special focus on the operationalisation of the agreed plan, including setting detailed KPI targets. 


• Consolidate and reconcile the operational plan and ensure it is correctly captured in the systems


• Provide monthly information on business performance in relation to Plan


• Provide Customer Profitability Analysis so that team has accurate and reliable Data.


• Ensure achievement of profitability targets through on going pricing and margin management.


• Complete customer pricing templates in line with agreed strategy to enable price approvals per MoA. 


• Carry out Projects evaluations by completing required documents (DCF’s, MND’s, IP’s) in line with VE guidelines.


• Provide advice and support to FBAM’s / STL’s on the process of negotiating price structures, contract negotiations, vetting of customers, risk, cost analysis and management.


• Lubes Controls focal point, ensuring prompt closure of Lubes Compliance agenda including Controls Self Assessments, Audit items, risk assessments etc.


• Provide cross-functional interface between CoBs and other functions especially Finance.


• Custodian of Lubes contract templates, maintain contract and guarantee data, track contract validity and ensure FBAM’s renew contracts on time as they fall due.


• Review integrity of financial data provided by Finance team. Track and reconcile adjustments. Act as a focal point for standard MI tools.


• Ensure the implementation of price changes through the ERP input team [e.g. Stock accountant etc].


• Monitor the effectiveness of price changes implementation and rebates.

Minimum Requirements/Competencies

• University degree in Business economics, accounting sales and marketing or similar


• Over 3 years’ experience


• Good commercial skills and experience in a commercial environment.


• Strong analytical skills


• Strong in excel and Power point presentation
