Job Title: Transport Senior Accountant

Location: Nairobi
Salary: 40K – 45K gross
Our client is in the truck transport industry with several clients with whom they transport their goods and services to and from major town in East Africa.
They seek to recruit a senior accountant who will manage their books of accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to Day Financial Administration of the Accounts Department.
- Preparation of Monthly Financial Reports including Profit & Loss Accounts, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet.
- Handling Company Purchases Ledger.
- Payroll processing.
- Creditors Control Accounts and reconciliations.
- Stores Control Accounts.
- Audit the company’s accounts to make sure that the company’s resources are well utilized.
- Preparation and submission of statutory returns including N.S.S.F, N.H.I.F.
- VAT Returns (ITAX),Employees P.A.Y.E(ITAX)
- Manage the office on a daily basis.
Skills and Experience required
- Degree in a business related field (Finance / Accounting)
- CPA (K).
- Knowledge of QuickBooks a must.
- A background in an audit firm will be an added advantage.
- 5 years working experience in the senior accounting position.
- Experience in a transport related company will be an added advantage.
- Sound understanding of taxation in the Kenyan context.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Demonstrated capacity to analyse complex situations, solve problems and manage change.
- Demonstrated skills in application of ICT tools and especially accounting software.
- Track record in achieving business targets, compliance and meeting legal and quality requirements.
