Field Office Director, anticipated Kenya Devolution project

Global Communities, formerly CHF International, is seeking candidates for Field Office Director for an anticipated USAID funded devolution program in Kenya. 

The project will build the capacity of local governments, improve service delivery at the local level, establish communication and coordination mechanisms between the central government and county governments and strengthen the role of civil society as a governance partner at the local level.

The Field Office Director will be responsible for ensuring the development and effective implementation of the relevant program strategies, plans and priorities and provide analysis and advice programmatic, operational, and substantive issues.

S/he provides guidance and direction to focus team members on achieving agreed targets and long-term strategic objectives. Position requires prior experience in East Africa; local Kenya experience highly preferred.

Qualifications:

7 + years of managerial experienceDemonstrated success implementing complex donor-funded projects with multiple activitiesStrong reputation for developing excellent collaborative working relationships with a range of organizations, stakeholders, and beneficiaries (e.g., national and sub-national government, NGOs, private sector);Ability to speak read and write fluently in English is essential; and Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social or administrative science.Related Posts Widget for Blogger

Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, seeks qualified professionals for a USAID - funded Feed the Future project anticipated to start June 2012.

The project is expected to accelerate efforts to address poverty and food security needs in Kenya by identifying, testing, cultivating, adapting, and scaling private sector innovations in select agriculture value chains that have the potential to general significant increases in household income and/or nutrition and promote equal opportunities for women, youth, and other vulnerable groups.

Chief of Party

Responsible for overall management of the project. Minimum qualifications:

Venture capital mindset and private sector background.Masters in Business Administration or relevant field.At least 7 years of experience in venture capitalism or other relevant experience.At least 10 years of experience working overseas and/or in Africa.Engagement Manager

Responsible for conducting initial assessments of applicants at all stages, determining what type and how much technical assistance is needed for each innovation, submitting proposals for the identified technical assistance, and managing short-term technical assistance orders.

Minimum qualifications:

Masters in Business Administration or relevant field.At least 7 years of experience in management/financial consulting, venture capitalism, or other relevant field.Assessment and Evaluation Specialist

Responsible for the design and oversight of experiments and other rigorous evidence based assessments.

Minimum qualifications:

Ph.D. in relevant field.At least 5 years of experience conducting rigorous, evidence-based assessments, or similar studies.Grants and Operations Manager

Responsible for managing and executing grants-under-contract program.

Will also lead operations, finance, accounting, and ensure compliance with USAID regulations.

Minimum qualifications:

Masters in accounting, finance, or similar degree.At least 5 years of experience in each: managing grants programs, finance/accounting, and compliance on a complex development program.Agricultural Innovation Specialist

Responsible for leading agricultural efforts for the project.

Should be private sector oriented and able to envision and implement solutions to adopting improved agricultural practices.

Minimum qualifications:

Graduate degree in a relevant field.At least 7 years of private sector agricultural or similar experience.Application Instructions:
