Research & Development Officer

The successful candidate will be required to identify and coordinate the research agenda, oversee the implementation of all the community projects / activities as planned by the community development staff within the college mission. Document the progress, lessons and challenges experienced within the project life as well as identifying the future potential interventions. In addition, the staff will be expected to train students in area of research and community development
 Key Requirements and Experience Degree in Community Development  or  relevant discipline from recognized University;3  years’ work experience  in the area of research and development; Conversant with relevant research-related statistics and soft ware analytical applications;Experience in applied research methods will be essential;Ability and experience in teaching course participants is important;Be good in leadership, communications and documentation skills;Prepare reports and disseminate research findings;Reasonable experience in proposal development and programme/project management;Must have good analytical, writing, reporting  and presentation skills;  Self-driving, be a team player and highly motivated;Demonstrated professional competence in field research relating to community development or related areas.The application to reach the college Principal via Post address P.O. box 52-2016 Molo, or E-mail baraka@sustainableag.org Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Responsibilities

Promoting Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Eastern Africa

Applications are invited for the position of Community Healthy Mainstreaming Facilitator at Baraka Agricultural College.

Job summary

The Community Healthy Mainstreaming Officer will support Community and HIV/AIDS units by promoting community curative and preventive health activities in liaison with the college Programmes, College Social Workers, Health Referral Centers to ensure quality health to the target communities in the areas of operations and facilitating training among adult learners in relevant areas.

Qualifications

Hold at least a Higher Diploma/ Degree; preferably in Social Science with a bias to Sociology and Social Work or in any other related disciplineDemonstrated community involvement related to Public Health and advocacy, is highly desirable. Desire to see effective facilitation to those affected by poor health. Ensure a safe and a healthy environment around communities of actionsBasic HIV/AIDS counseling knowledge and skills Good communication skills and facilitation skillsAbility to conduct needs assessment on information and documentationOrganizational skills and networking skillsMust be innovative and result orientedAbility to work under minimum supervisionHow to Apply
