Motivate We Consulting (MWC) is one of the leading firms in Executive Search and Selection in the region. We seek to fill up the following positions, for one of our clients in the Aviation industry: Identifying and monitoring flight safety activities which may have an impact on flight safety.Making recommendations to senior management on matters pertaining flight safety.Developing and maintaining a safety awareness program.Overseeing the reporting system and flight safety incident database.Maintaining and evaluating the proper functioning of flight safety programs such as Safety Audits and Surveys.Qualifications and experience 
Must be a technically qualified person in the field of aircraft maintenance or flight operations. Must have attended a comprehensive aviation safety management system course recognized by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority. Must have at least five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience within Flight Operations or Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering. Must have an understanding of Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARS) relating to safety standards.Flight Operation Officers / Flight Dispatchers Be a licensed dispatcher / flight operations officer by KCAA. Must have acquired recognized training in aviation management and flight dispatch. Hold a diploma or under graduate management degree from a recognized institution. Have an excellent command of English Have excellent people skillsHave the capability to work under pressure in a challenging environment. Have at least three years working experience in flight operations Ability to think critically and act logically to evaluate situations that are work related Knowledge and experience in aircraft performance limitation; Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience and must have a track record of working in a busy aviation firm Self confidence, excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff Be a licensed dispatcher / flight operations officer by KCAA or any other recognized Civil Aviation Authority.Must have acquired recognized training in aviation management and flight dispatch. Be in possession of an under graduate management degree from a recognized university. Have an excellent command of English. Have excellent people skills and be capable of managing a multicultural team. Have the capability to work under pressure in a challenging environment. Have at least three years working experience in flight operations Possess excellent organizational skills and be a team player.How to Apply

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Transport established under CAP 394 of the Laws of Kenya with a mission ‘to develop, regulate and manage a safe, efficient and effective Civil Aviation System in Kenya’ is seeking to recruit qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the following positions.
1. Airworthiness Inspectors – 5 Posts
Reporting to the Manager Airworthiness, the inspector’s job purpose is to perform inspection, audit and surveillance activities with respect to aircraft maintenance and airworthiness in order to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards, regulations and recommended practices.Plans and supervises the inspection and surveillance activities for a team of Inspectors.Reviews Inspections reports during certification process, surveillance reports, as well as other evaluations and tests conducted by Inspectors.Trains and coaches inspectors and trainee inspectors.Performs inspections, audit and continuous surveillance and follows-up on corrective actions.Examines current and new international and foreign Airworthiness standards related to continuing Airworthiness and determination of the need for adoption.Confers at National and international levels on matters relating to the regulation of Airworthiness.Performs continuous, planned and random surveillance of aircrafts, including ramp inspections and prepares task report for approval.Participates in combined air operator inspections with Flight Operations Inspectors for the purpose of issue/renewal of AOC and random surveillance inspections.Evaluates aircraft maintenance organisations for approval purposes and performs continuous surveillance of such organisations.Evaluates, for approval purposes, aircraft airframe and power plant modifications.Assesses and evaluates technical documents of the industry for the purpose of approval and conducts audits as appropriate.Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.A holder of a diploma in aeronautical or mechanical engineering.Aircraft maintenance engineers licences in Category A (Airframe) and C (Power plant).At least two type courses or two type ratings in category A and C on Light aircraft.A degree in aeronautical or mechanical engineering will be an added advantage.At least 2 years experience as an airworthiness inspector or at least 7 years experience as an aircraft maintenance engineer.Ability to identify non-compliance issues and unsafe practices and to advise operators on remedial actions.Ability to coach for high performance.Knowledge of the inspection process, with an ability to diagnose issues and propose improvements in the process.Supervisory and coaching skills.Proficiency in office suite and desktop publishing tools.2. Flight Operations Inspectors – 5 Posts
Reporting to the Manager Flight Operations, the inspector’s job purpose is to organize and supervise the inspection and surveillance activities with respect to general aviation to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards, regulations and recommended practices.Performs inspection and surveillance duties with respect to General Aviation.Evaluates the appropriateness of the operator’s training programmes for pilots, including training facilities, equipment and simulators with respect to the aircraft being used.Evaluates, for approval purposes, the training programmes / curricula offered by training organisations, including the appropriateness of facilities, equipment and training personnel.Performs continuous surveillance, ramp and en route, of Kenyan registered aircrafts as well as foreign aircrafts operating in Kenya and reports on incidents and occurrences.Prepares and conducts, and / or oversees where outsourced, the processes leading to pilot licensing, such as, preparation of examination and evaluations, including carrying out flight tests to evaluate pilot proficiency for aircraft type endorsement for check airman approval.Works closely with Airworthiness, Licensing and other departments as and when required.Maintains and updates own level of professional knowledge and standards.Performs duties at the satellite stations as may be assigned by the Chief Inspector Flight operations.Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Inspector Flight Operations.Ordinary level certificate of education with mean grade c+ or its equivalent.Commercial pilot’s license which must be current.Type rating on at least two aircraft types in the Kenyan register.A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as, Aviation is an added advantage.At least 5 years flying experience (civil or otherwise).Ability to identify non-compliance issues and unsafe practices and to advise operators on remedial actions.Establishes follow-up and monitoring mechanisms with operators on issues identified by audits.Ability to coach for high performance Knowledge of the inspection process, with an ability to diagnose issues and propose improvements in the process.Good verbal and written communication / reporting skills.Proficiency in office suite and desktop publishing tools.Interested candidates who meet the above qualifications and experience are requested to send their application letter attaching copies of certificates, other relevant testimonials and an upto-date CV indicating day-time telephone contact and full contacts details of three referees so as to reach the undersigned not later than 14th September 2012.
