The role of the Vendor Manager includes but is not limited to:

Handling relationships with new and current suppliers (includes talking to them every day and developing a rapport).Getting the weekly promotion items from the suppliers.Negotiating costs and payment terms with the suppliers.Getting new releases as soon as the suppliers have them.Shortlisting and prioritizing key suppliers.Finding new suppliers with no limits, try to source and sell every product within your category.Monitoring stock levels and planning the purchasing policy well in advance.Having an accurate knowledge of competition: who they are, what prices they have and their products.Analyzing consumer buying behavior and predicting future trends.Attending trade fairs / events and sourcing for new products.Producing Monthly sales reports.Liaising with various teams within the organization to ensure a smooth flow of operations.Purchasing and supplies qualifications.2 years and above work experience Prior experience with household electronics/ furniture suppliers Excellent computer skills.Knowledge of Home and Living products will be an added advantage.Exceptional analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.Proactive, Entrepreneurial and proven ability to deliver exceptional results.Please send your resume to: joinus-kenya@jumia.com

technical expertise, dedicated product management and logistics and incentive programmes,
Vendor Business Manager’s overall job purpose is to meet and overachieve on the
company’s Sales Target

Work Location: Relocation approved, East Africa (Tanzania) acceptable, Kenya preferred.

Vendor Focus
• Collaboration with outsourced international brand inside Sales Acct Manager,
Distribution Acct Manager, Territory Business Manager to execute outsourced
international brand Recruit, Enable, Grow initiatives and accelerate sales at the long tail
(unmanaged partners) of the company
• Attend weekly sales & forecasting meeting; sales support to Disti general sales team,
assist/train Disti call centre agents, etc
• Joint quarterly activity execution planning with monthly reviews – leverage PL CIR &
MBO investment (initiatives jointly funded with outsourced international brand )
• Facilitate focused list of partners to develop new revenue streams

Channel Focus
• Develop opportunities with unmanaged partners and manage healthy pipeline

Technology Focus
• Develop sales depth and breadth across Commercial (Foundation and Advanced
Technology)

Ideal candidate should have a BSc degree Sales/ and Marketing with extensive sales
experience in the IT industry (more than 5 years). The experience should entail Sales
management (with a One-to-many bias); face-to-face selling and group presentations; a bit
of Sales, a lot of marketing in a technical IT environment; and proven track record in
managing multiple opportunities and ability to negotiate and close deals. The candidates
should be computer literate and have Intermediate MS Office. Other attributes will include;
• Strong written, verbal communication skills. (English a must, French a plus)
• Ability to travel as needed
• Ability to facilitate building and maintaining relationships
• Analytical minded with high levels of attention to detail; prominent sense of urgency;
organisational awareness and adequate ICT industry knowledge
• Cross-functional skills

Position Title: Planning Database Coordinator & Strategic Vendor Accounting
Reports to: Director, Network Planning & Strategic Design
Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

Basic Purpose:
Our client’s network expansion planning processes are data intensive. The role will therefore be responsible for managing technical and capital data related to expansion planning within all of the Company’s operations. The role shall also coordinate the plan approval process and ensure that the various stakeholders within the process have provided inputs as required. The role shall also engage with the Company’s operations and strategic vendors on a regular basis for reconciliation of data related to network deployment vs contracted agreements.
Main Responsibilities and Duties

The candidate will be responsible for:

1. Planning validation process:
Coordinate the planning process by collecting data from the the Company’s operations and ensuring that the plans are validated by the relevant functional experts at the head office. The role shall be expected to optimise and streamline any processes already in place.

The plan validation process is data intensive and the role is required to identify and arrange for the collection of the required data inputs from the the Company’s operations, to setup and maintain appropriate repositories for the data, and to do data mining to provide management reports as well as detailed technical / capital expenditure reports for the business as and when required.

2. Strategic vendor accounting:
The Company has vendor supply contracts with strategic vendors that require regular reconciliation of contract commitments vs actual deployments. The role shall be responsible for data collection, reconciliation, and vendor sign-off of deployed vs contracted supply items.

Education, Skills & Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will:
* Have a strong background in data management
* Be an expert in Database management and an expert user of Microsoft Excel.
* Have the ability to setup and administer databases, automate processes that involve collection and manipulation of data, and generation of standard reports.
* Have a high level or deep knowledge of GSM network systems
* Experience GSM network planning shall be an added benefit.
* Be detail oriented
* Have strong interpersonal skills
* Be a pro-active, team player
* Be non-confrontational and have multicultural sensitivity.
* Be a good communicator
* Be resourceful and good at multi-tasking.
* Be in possession of a degree in Electronics / Telecom / Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from reputable institution.
