Job Title: Information Security Administrator
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Information Security Office, ICT Department, the job holder will be part of a team supporting and enhancing the Bank’s Information Technology systems and security programmes as well as mitigating and managing IT risks using appropriate tools in line with the mandate of the Department.
Systems Administrator Key Duties & Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard database information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems such as the installation of new databases.
Audit users and user access levels for each segment of database.
Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database.
Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
Address security audit issues and respond to security incidents
Perform periodic applications, database and operating system vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
Recommend technologies for implementation to achieve compliance
Carry out continuous proactive applications, database and operating systems security reviews and reporting on the security posture of the Bank
Review applications, database and operating systems activity logs, backup logs ,audit trail and provide computer forensics and investigation services to the Bank
Support internal and external audits and compliance initiatives
Participate in Disaster Recovery and BCP planning and testing
IT Job Requirements
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or related field
Postgraduate qualification in the relevant area will be an added advantage
Certification on Oracle Database Security or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP: Database Administration) or
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) an added advantage.
Any recognized international and professional Information Security Certification e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM.
At least 2 years technical and hands on experience in: Database security administration or database administration Unix Operating Systems administration IT security, risk management or information security audit IT Service delivery
Experience working with forensic investigation tools such as Encase, FTK and ACL is an added advantage
UNIX System Administration qualification/experience specific to IBM AIX is an added advantage
Ability to work in large multi-disciplinary teams ¿ Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
A team player, possessing excellent communication, presentation, analytical, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
Should be open-minded and a change champion ¿ Mature person with proven integrity, initiative and drive
Ability to think strategically with creative problem solving skills
