Job Description
An organization, whose purpose is to transform African Businesses into Global Brands through innovation, strategy and business alignment, is looking to recruit an Underwriter for one of its subsidiary companies.
Title: Senior Underwriter
Reporting To: Director- strategy
Overall Job Purpose: To provide technical support and enhance Super Service Delivery by effecting insurance covers and producing quality, timely, relevant and accurate insurance documents to all our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the technical function of underwriting & claims
Computing competitive quotations in line with our underwriting philosophy and discussing them with clients
Processing debits and credits
Issue certificates
Submit risk notes and obtain policy documents
Prepare and issue renewal notice
Assist in product development
Client relationship management
Minimum Qualifications
Business related Graduate
Diploma in Insurance.
Must posses AIIK or ACII qualifications
Must have at least 4 years experience in a brokerage firm
Demonstrated understanding of key laws and rules guiding insurance brokers, insurance companies and customers in this market
Experience in Medical underwriting would be an added advantage
Disposition
Strong business Acumen
A good communicator with great interpersonal skills
Good administrative and supervisory skills
